OKIO Eyewear immediately impressed us with its wide array of European-style specs. They offer just about every design imaginable as well as big-name brands known globally like Lindberg, Modo, Barton Perreira and more.

Aside from their classy frames, what impressed us the most about this shop is its talented roster of optometrists. A couple of friends recommended this place to us, raving about how they were able to choose the perfect specs for their needs, and the right style for their face shape.

We tried the service ourselves and we were more than impressed by the friendly service not just from the optometrist but the rest of the staff members as well—an instant A+ in our books.

It also helped that the store itself offered dedicated spaces for us to wait comfortably. Our only gripe is that although their specs are as stylish as they can get, they’re not the most affordable.

Pros

  • Wide variety of designs and brands
  • Friendly and helpful staff members
  • Personable optometrist

Cons

  • Slightly pricier rates

The staff is helpful

“Came here for my mom’s new spec. The staff is helpful when assisting her. My mom is really happy with the purchase. The store has a wide range of frames to choose from.”

Really recommend this place

“This is my first time coming here but for my 2nd spec. Brought my own frame & was looking for a good lens to replace my missing old lenses. Luckily, we found this place. It was very affordable and Sue was very helpful and friendly.

Really recommend this place. Thanks, Sue and team!“

New Image Eyewear is one of our top picks because of their wide selection of big-name brands like Ray-Ban, Hugo Boss and more. What further impressed us, however, was the variety of frames they offer as well as their inclusion of sunglasses and contact lenses.

I recently went with my mother to get her some corrective lenses and I’ve got to say, their customer service is great! For starters, we loved the attentiveness of the person who tended to us, helping my mother find the right lens for her needs and style.

The only thing we would hope New Image Eyewear can improve is for them to include more brands and options on the affordable side. We felt like they’re geared more towards high-end shoppers, which could be a concern for others.

Pros

  • Great selection of high-end brands
  • Skilled optometrists
  • Clean and well-organised store
  • Offers sunglasses and contact lenses

Cons

  • Slightly limited selection of affordable options

They have everything

“I have been frequenting this place for almost a year now and I will confidently say that I won’t go anywhere else for my eyewear needs.

This is largely because they have everything I needed and the owner is undeniably knowledgeable in his line of work.

Add to that the friendliness of the ones working here and their eagerness to aid me in finding the right eyewear is only matched by the owner’s passion for his trade (I swear you can actually see the fire in his eyes when he starts talking).

All in all, this place can provide a very fulfilling experience for those who are willing to give it a shot.”

– Nero Lai, Google Review

Service was excellent

“My family and I made 5 pairs of glasses here, 4 with progressive lenses. We were served by Emie, who is attentive and professional, in recommending the right frames, right lenses and in prescription examination.

Service was excellent, and the glasses were couriered to Singapore. We are all happy with our new glasses. Thank you!“

We discovered Eye Max Optical Trillium through one of those “sponsored by Google” results on the search engine. The store immediately piqued our attention because beside its name was the title “Award Winning Eyecare Centre.”

Naturally, we had to take a closer look ourselves and we discovered why so many people have praised this optical shop online.

For starters, their customer service is spectacular, as their staff members are both friendly and knowledgeable. The person who assisted us did a great job at explaining our eyesight condition and why a specific lens may benefit us more than the other.

As much as we love their selection of eyeglass brands, however, we did feel like they’re a bit limited compared to their sunglasses selection. If you’re looking for something that not everybody has though, this is a great option to get your specs.

Pros

  • High-quality glasses
  • Reasonable prices
  • Offers glasses tightening, cleaning and other general services
  • Features big-name brands

Cons

  • Slightly limited selection of eyeglass brands

Highly recommend it!

“Reasonable price with quality and pocket friendly. Good service from the staff. For anyone who hasn’t bought one I highly recommend it!”

Superb quality

“It’s my first time wearing glasses. Came here after a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint. Amazing service by the staff with good explanations regarding the types of lenses, frames, etc. The glasses themselves were of superb quality.

When it comes to affordability, I-Wear Gallery offers the most options. They may not carry as many well-known brands but their eyewear is still of high quality.

We were also impressed to see just how varied their selection was, featuring different-coloured and shaped frames as well as contact lenses. The latter features just as much variety with its colours, which we thought was pretty neat.

Their customer service is also commendable, as they never showed us any kind of negativity during our experience. Other previous customers we spoke with have vouched for these professionals as well, highlighting their friendliness and helpfulness.

As for the downsides, our main problem is I-Wear Gallery’s lack of an official website or even a Facebook profile. Furthermore, we felt that their space is a bit cramped, which can make it hard for shoppers to maneuver inside, especially when there are other customers.

Pros

  • Neat and organised collection
  • Numerous affordable options
  • Friendly and attentive staff members

Cons

  • No official website
  • Slightly small space

Highly suggest this optical shop

“The staff Casey is very friendly. She gave me many options that are suitable for my face shape. The ambience of the store was cozy and the price of the specs was affordable. Overall, I would highly suggest this optical shop.”

– Nur Iman, Google Review

OWNDAYS is one of the most well-known optical shops not only in Malaysia but in Southeast Asia as a whole. This is why we took a closer look at what the attention is all about, and it’s safe to say, it’s not just hype!

For starters, their selection of frames is quite different compared to the ones offered in other optical stores. They’re both stylish and functional, which makes them even more appealing to wear as opposed to the traditional eyewear styles we always see.

The aesthetics carry over to the store itself as well, as it looks more like a cafe than an optical shop. Featuring warm lights and exposed wooden floors, the store immediately made us feel welcomed and warm.

We were further impressed by their after-sales support offerings, which included free repairs and cleaning.

Our only problem is the slightly pricier price range. However, if you’re looking for something that won’t only improve your eyesight but elevate your style as well, then this is money worth spending!

Pros

  • Impressive selection of stylish frames
  • Offers high-quality brands
  • Aesthetically pleasing store
  • Helpful and knowledgeable staff members

Cons

  • Slightly pricey rates

Warm and informative service

“Been visiting this outlet for all of my family members’ glasses. Great service as always and today I was being served by Miss Nina, kudos to her for providing a warm and informative service. Thank you and keep up the great service Owndays!”

– Izyan Wajiha, Google Review

Pleasant and comfortable

“A great optical shop that offers a wide range of products. Fantastic experiences, always pleasant and comfortable, especially the personal service offered by Tan.

I liked the professional advice given to him based on my individual needs and his patience in understanding my vision problems and always being able to help with pick the pair of glasses that suited me best.

Great after-sales support too when needed. Will surely return for my next pair!”
