The best thing about Parents’ Day is that you don’t have to go anywhere expensive to enjoy it, with KLCC Park being one of the prime examples. This park welcomes all families on Parents’ Day, offering a much-needed patch of greenery amidst the busy streets of the capital.
You can also choose to try different activities during your day, from riding bikes to jogging, playing frisbee, etc. Furthermore, there are plenty of benches and open grassy areas where you can set up your blanket and arrange your own high tea set!
Lastly, you can top your day off by watching the symphony fountain show from around 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This features a beautiful combination of lights and sounds that will give your Parents’ Day that storybook ending—plus, this would also be the best time to give your gift!

The essence of Parents’ Day is to promote family values, and there’s no better place to do this than in your own home! So, in honour of your parents being the providers, why not prepare a meal for them this time around, right?
We’re not just talking about any meal either, but instead a full-blown Malaysian feast, featuring favourites like nasi lemak, satay, laksa, etc. The great thing about these dishes is that they’re simple to make but impactful, so you won’t need Gordon Ramsay-level cooking skills.
You can take the surprise further by decorating your home with colourful flowers, balloons, banners, etc. To add a personal touch, you can also flash a slideshow on your TV of your favourite family photos!
Pro tip:
Choose what to include in your Malaysian feast from Rasa Malaysia’s recipes. From simple kaya toasts to mee rebus, nasi lemak, and more, you’ll find everything laid out here!

Nothing screams Parents’ Day celebration like a hearty feast, and one of the best places to do this is at Makan Kitchen. Located in the esteemed Double Tree Hotel by Hilton, this buffet offers one of the most lavish all-you-can-eat experiences in Kuala Lumpur!
For starters, it features an overall elegant ambience that’s perfect for a celebration such as Parents’ Day! Furthermore, it offers one of the most impressive spreads we’ve seen in any buffet in KL, offering a wide variety of both local and international dishes, as well as desserts!
However, the biggest highlight here for us is the seafood bar. It features the freshest seafood, from crabs to lobsters, prawns, and oysters, all of which are kept on ice and don’t require much more than a squeeze of lemon and some butter to enhance their flavour.
Pro tip:
To somewhat make up for the expensive rates at the restaurant, we recommend taking the bus and getting off at the KL1949 Intermark Mall to reach DoubleTree KL.

From roses to lilies, tulips, and everything in between, you can expect this florist to have them all, plus some toys! These flowers, paired with a heartfelt letter, are guaranteed to tug at your parents’ heartstrings!
