5 Paintball Arenas in KL That Will Put Your Skills to the Test

As the designated activity planner of my family, I’m always out to find fun and interesting things to do in Kuala Lumpur. Fortunately, it’s not that hard since it’s home to indoor playgrounds, parks, museums, etc., and the best part is that new places are being introduced regularly.

With the kids of the family growing up, I’ve been recently tasked to find an activity that could cater to their age, and the best idea I came up with was paintball! To my surprise, KL has several paintball arenas, so I did some digging to find the best one.

Even though we only ended up visiting one arena, I was excited for the next family paintball sesh because there were so many good options, and I’m here to share them with you! Keep on reading to discover KL’s best paintball arenas that will put your skills to the test!

Canyon Paintball is one of the premier arenas in the capital, featuring multiple zones across its 20-acre outdoor terrain. Aside from the inflatable walls, there are also abandoned structures that are perfect for taking cover and waiting for enemies.

Our favourite thing about this arena is that it offers a “Low Impact!” mode designed for kids 14 years old and below. As you may have gleaned from its name, this game mode features paintball guns that fire with less impact, making it safe for both kids and beginners alike.

We also love how the overall arena is covered with lush trees, which makes it feel more like a natural battlefield. Speaking of the battlefield, it can be unforgiving, so it’s nice that the place allows rental for safety vests and other essential pieces of equipment.

Pro tip:

If you’re looking for a faster-paced and adrenaline-inducing experience, try their speedball! It offers 500 to 2,000 rounds and full access to their inflatable zone.

Website

Mudtrekker started as an outdoor adventure venue back in 1995, before it became the largest paintball arena in KL. It offers one of the diverse paintball playgrounds in the country, offering different terrains and venues for both small-scale and large-scale battles.

For instance, there’s a zone inspired by Camelot where covers take the form of castle walls and pointed roofs. Meanwhile, those seeking faster-paced action can check out the more tightly knit arena, “Foxhole Valley.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete paintball experience without the speedball arena, and Mudtrekker features massive ones (35m x 65m each). They’re dotted with multiple inflatables that serve as player cover that can be used to their advantage.

Pro tip:

You can also include a lunch package with your paintball session. They offer Malay cuisine staples like nasi lemak with ayam goreng, mee hoon goreng, and nasi goreng kampung—plus, each package comes with coffee and egg!

Cyberjaya Paintball Park

Address: Kelab Komuniti Taman Tasik

Contact details: +60 12-606 6255

Operating hours: Daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Cost:

  • Basic pack: RM70
  • Standard pack: RM90
  • Premium pack: RM115
  • Kids package: RM40

Website

Cyberjaya Paintball Park is a fantastic choice for those who are on a budget but still want to experience action-packed fun! It offers great value-for-money packages that already consist of paintballs, a referee, face masks, and, of course, access to all the fields.

Speaking of fields, they’re quite spacious as well, and feature a variety of terrains that allow for strategic combat and cover. For starters, they offer a three-acre RecBall arena that features lush vegetation, shade, and manmade bunkers.

Moreover, they feature a more traditional speedball arena, which combines this type of vegetation with inflatable bunkers. It features an overall rugged look, and we appreciate how the out-of-bounds area is clearly marked.

Pro tip:

If blasting your friends with paintballs wasn’t enough to satisfy your taste for adrenaline, you can also rent ATVs at Cyberpark!

Kombat Zone Paintball

Address: Lot 16060, Jalan Taman Zooview

Contact details: +60 19-312 0888

Operating hours: Daily from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Cost:

  • 500 pellets: RM100
  • 250 pellets: RM80

Website

Kombat Zone Paintball is the cheapest paintball venue in KL, but what’s more impressive is that the experience doesn’t feel cheap! For starters, it doesn’t feature a time limit, as players are free to play their game until all pellets have been fired.

We also love how they provide all the necessary safety gear, which we’ve got to say, we didn’t expect to be in such good condition. These pieces of gear are vital, since the fast-paced action in its two arenas is always dialled to 11 thanks to the tight-knit layout.

They offer two zones, the barrel city and cherry village. Both these zones offer strategic covers as well as towers where you can snipe your enemies from a distance, but be careful because it’s also a vulnerable spot!

Pro tip:

You can also race ATVs at the ATV Adventure Park Kuala Lumpur before or after a competitive game of paintball!

Website

If you’re looking for the most immersive paintball experience, then Dusun Ali King Paintball & Rimba Cafe should be on your radar! Surrounded by lush trees and grassy hills, this place does a great job of emulating a rundown battlefield.

Dotted around the battlefield are makeshift covers, such as barrels, stacks of tires, trees, etc. Getting to them is a challenge, though, as there are spaces between each cover where you’ll be vulnerable for an accurate shot.

We inquired about this place, and what impressed us the most, apart from its arena, is the customer service. They handle both small gatherings and team buildings and feature a smooth program that consists of an in-depth orientation and a meal.

Pro tip:

You can also check out the nearby IIUM Archery Range if you want to shoot more targets and learn a different skill at the same time.
