How much do wedding venues cost in Malaysia?
Wedding venues in Malaysia cost anywhere between RM1,000 to RM5,000 or even more. This price changes depending on the number of guests you’re planning to have, the location and more.
1. The Majestic Hotel – Kuala Lumpur
Location: 5, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Tasik Perdana, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Contact: +60 3-2785 8000
The Majestic Hotel should be on your radar if you’re looking to hold your wedding in an elegant five-star hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. We immediately fell in love with this place because of its looks, featuring an old-timey aesthetic that’s oozing with character.
However, upon inquiring, we discovered that it offered more than just looks. For starters, we appreciate how they offer five different venues, with each one offering a different type of vibe and seating capacity.
Among these venues are a majestic ballroom, a beautiful conservatory, an intimate function room and a charming roof garden.
We also wanted to highlight the amazing food the hotel offers, which ranges from Western classics to Asian delights and more.
The only downside with this wedding venue is its hefty price, considering its accessible location and that it’s a five-star hotel through and through. It’s money well spent though, as you’ll be getting world-class service as well as an impressive buffet.
Buffet has a wide variety of dishes
“Hotel is a great venue for wedding reception to be held. The decorations for the wedding event and seating will be arranged at the banquet hall.
The hotel has a buffet that has a wide variety of dishes from Western dishes like pizzas and pasta to Malay cuisines like rice and steamed fish, and beef kurma to Japanese cuisine like sushi. Their desserts are also sweet from ice cream, to cakes and macaroons”

2. Paradise 101 – Langkawi
Location: Jalan, Lot 57, Seksyen (HSM) 10DR744, MUKIM, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia
Contact: +60 12-473 2901
If you’re looking for a spectacular beach wedding venue, then Paradise 101 should be on your radar. This company does a great job of planning and hosting private events in one of Langkawi’s most beautiful beaches, which includes weddings.
One of our favourite things about their wedding package is it perfectly blends luxury with nature, allowing couples to recite their vows in front of beautiful sceneries. Plus, they do a great job of decorating a beach, providing comfy seats and elegant arches just to name a few.
We also appreciate that they can take care of everything about the wedding, from the cake to the catering, same-day edits, invitations and even rehearsal dinners. Furthermore, they also offer fantastic honeymoon packages for newlyweds.
Lastly, we love this as a wedding venue because it doubles as a vacation destination. Before or after the wedding, the couple, along with their loved ones can engage in fun activities like jetskiing, swimming, snorkelling, etc.
Of course, the only downside to renting a private island of your own is the hefty price tag.
Goof for honeymoons and wedding celebrations
“We really enjoyed our day out and the island is amazing and has lots of things to do. The service and staff are excellent and the food was incredible, they have many food choices that everyone will like. It’s good for honeymoons and wedding celebrations.
There are many boat trips to do like a sunset cruise or activities on the island. If you go to Langkawi you must come to paradise 101!”

Offers a stunning view of the Great Andaman Sea
“Paradise 101 offers a stunning view of the Great Andaman Sea, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate breathtaking scenery. The location is incredible, situated on a secluded island accessible by ferry, which adds to the charm and adventure of the experience.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. However, the food was average and could be improved to match the spectacular surroundings. Overall, it’s a great place to visit for its fantastic location and warm hospitality.”

3. Seven Terraces – Penang
Services: Garden maintenance, garden landscape
Location: 4-B, Jalan BK 2/11, Bandar Kinrara, 58200 Puchong, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Contact: +60 12-338 6466
We knew Seven Terraces prior to making this list because this is where we stayed on a vacation in Penang. What I didn’t know was how great this place was as a wedding venue, especially with its old-timey Peranakan charm that you wouldn’t typically find in other modern hotels.
What we love about this place as a wedding venue is its intimate peaceful setting, which is perfect for small but meaningful ceremonies. They have a dedicated dining room that they can transform to your liking as well as a beautifully decorated wedding suite.
Something we learned from our interviews with their past clients is that their customer service is top-notch. From planning to executing, everything is done with great effort by their friendly and helpful staff members.
However, we did wish that they would offer more variety in their food and beverage selection, as they’re slightly limited to Chinese and Peranakan dishes. We can’t knock on it too much though, as it follows the overall motif of the hotel.
Top-notch customer service
“Seven Terraces is a well-known Heritage Hotel in Georgetown, Penang. It needs no introduction, with this in mind, in this review, I will be focusing on their top-notch customer service.
We had our wedding celebration at Seven Terraces & Kebaya dining room. We faced countless hurdles from the planning to the execution phase, and the complication intensity as our wedding was during the period when there was a surge of Omicron cases.
Colin, Syahrul, Han and all the team members have provided personalized service. They have supported us thoroughly and have ensured our wedding day ran smoothly.
Some examples to share:
Syahrul gave us a virtual tour of the hotel rooms and dining room when we were in Singapore. This has greatly helped us in our planning and decision-making process.
When we arrived in Penang, Colin organized a meeting with us to understand our needs and requirements. He gave us a tour of the different rooms and explained the background behind the antique pieces.
In addition, Colin is very accommodating, he provided us the consent to have an important traditional Chinese wedding ritual in the courtyard.
During our stay, Han ensured the rooms were in good shape and provided attentive service. Given that our wedding was held at Kebaya, we requested for ironing service.
Han has personally helped to steam iron our wedding attires. It was a good helping hand, and gave us more time to focus on the final preparation before our wedding day.
At the wedding luncheon, Syahrul has put up a great show. His entire team have served my guests professionally.
We are very pleased that we celebrated our greatest moment in life at Seven Terraces & Kebaya. Thank you very much all.”

Really appreciate the well-preserved heritage
“Just stayed here for a couple of days with wife and family as we were organising our wedding reception in the adjacent kebaya dining room.
Got the duplex rooms which were a lot larger than what we expected based on the photos. Would recommend those with older parents to take the Stewart side duplex as the double bed is downstairs, giving them easier access.
The customer service is absolutely top-notch, we had a great wedding here and all our needs were promptly responded to. Really appreciate the well-preserved heritage Peranakan furniture and carpentry.
Will definitely stay here again.”

4. Glasshouse at Seputeh – Kuala Lumpur
Location: 17, Lorong Syed Putra Kiri, Bukit Seputeh, 50460 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Contact: +60 17-444 3047
Glasshouse at Seputeh is among the most elegant wedding/reception areas you can choose in Kuala Lumpur. When we saw the name, we didn’t think that it was a literal glasshouse so to our surprise, we were greeted by a hall with floor-to-ceiling windows surrounded by lush greenery.
Aside from its looks, we also appreciate that they offer fantastic catering, which mostly consists of Western dishes. From what we’ve heard during our interviews with their previous couples, the food was one of the standout factors of Glasshouse.
We also like how flexible the halls of this place are, allowing them to cater to different seating capacities. Plus, we do want to note that the entire place is air-conditioned so you won’t have to worry about crowdedness affecting the temperature.
As for its downsides, we feel like its location is a double-edged sword, as its accessibility and strategic address made the rates that much pricier. It doesn’t help that they don’t offer complete packages so you’ll have to sort other services like event coverage yourself.
Very beautiful and cosy
“Very beautiful and cosy place for events, especially small western wedding dinners. The food was very tasty too. They provide valet parking.”
– Sofia Lim, Google Review
Good ambience
“Attended a wedding dinner there. Fully air-conditioned. The toilets are clean. Spacious enough for 40 tables and a small dance floor and stage. It provides a cool garden feel and a good ambience.”

5. Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa – Penang
Location: Jalan Batu Ferringhi, Kampung Tanjung Huma, 11100 Batu Ferringhi, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
Contact: +60 4-888 8888
Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort is great for those looking to arrange a luxurious wedding near the sea. We inquired about their wedding events and we were surprised when they presented us with three different packages, with each one featuring packed inclusions.
For instance, their wedding ceremony package includes flower arrangements, full decorations chosen by the couple, free-flowing mocktails and more. We also appreciate that their package includes amenities and facilities like the use of their VA system, free parking for guests, etc.
We’ve also interviewed some of the venue’s previous clients and they had nothing but good words to say about the staff members of the hotel. From arranging the photography services to providing outstanding food, they were as reliable as they could be.
The only downside here is the expensive price range. However, if you consider its inclusions, the venue and the overall location of the place, you’ll realise that you’ll be getting the best value for your money.
Beautiful facilities
“They have beautiful facilities and their staff are friendly and attentive. This place as a wedding venue is a dream”
