TTDI’s 5 Finest French Restaurants That’ll Make You Think You’re Near the Eiffel Tower!
A few weekends ago, I got on a culinary adventure, hoping to indulge in a few classic French dishes and maybe discover a charming bistro or two. As I wandered through TTDI, I quickly realized that I had stumbled upon a major culinary discovery.
From decadent coq au vin to delicate macarons, each restaurant offered a delightful experience that transported me straight to the streets of Paris. The atmosphere, the aromas, and the artistry of the dishes left me utterly enchanted.
The challenge wasn’t whether I’d find amazing French food; it was deciding which restaurants to explore first. So, let me be your guide to the finest French restaurants in TTDI, where authentic flavors and culinary craftsmanship await your taste buds.
How much does a French meal typically cost in TTDI?
In Malaysia, a typical French meal usually costs between RM 50 and RM 70. This price range generally includes a main course, appetizer, and dessert, offering a complete dining experience.
1. DC Restaurant

Address: 44, Persiaran Zaaba
Phone: +60377310502
Business Hours: Tuesday to Sunday – 6 to 11:30 PM
DC Restaurant is undeniably one of the finer French dining spots in TTDI. Known for its blend of French culinary techniques and a Malaysian twist, Chef Darren Chin brings together intricate courses that reflect his years of training and creativity.
Upon walking in, the ambiance at DC Restaurant is elegant yet relaxed as it strikes a balance between modern chic and classic refinement. The cool breeze at Moonbar, their rooftop venue, added a refreshing touch as we sipped on perfectly crafted cocktails.
Moreover, we went for the La Empereur menu, a multi-course extravaganza. Some dishes stood out brilliantly, like the amuse bouche and bread basket with caviar butter. The pacing of the meal was an issue, with longer-than-expected waits between courses.
The service was generally attentive, but understanding the detailed descriptions of each dish from the waiter was challenging. While polite and professional, the explanation of the courses got lost in translation, which detracted from the overall experience.
We do recommend trying the Moonbar for cocktails, especially if you’re into innovative mixology.

Would definitely be back
“Visited on 6/8/23 and had the 5 course truffle tasting menu at DC. All dishes were creative with impeccable presentation and they are well worthy of their Michelin Star. Only dish that did not work for me was the Pen-Shell but everything else just hit the spot. Prices are a little on the high side but well worth every penny. They have amazing desserts too that summed up a glorious meal.”

Memorable modern French cuisine
“Had a memorable modern French cuisine fine dining here. We went for 5 course seasonal truffle menus. The food was extremely good, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. The staff there patiently explained each course meal served. We didn’t manage to book the moon bar that day but the staff was so kind and brought us to the moon bar for drink after our dinner.”

2. Brasserie Léon

Address: 1-1, Greens Terrace, Jalan Wan Kadir 3
Phone: +60327124481
Business Hours:
- Monday, Wednesday to Friday – 5:30 to 11:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – 11 AM to 3 PM | 5:30 to 11:30 PM
Brasserie Léon offers an inviting experience that highlights the beauty of French simplicity.
The menu showcases classic French dishes that bring Paris to TTDI. From their well-loved steak frites to the rich and flavorful onion soup, it’s clear that Brasserie Léon sticks to tradition while delivering high-quality, satisfying meals.
Furthermore, we were particularly impressed with the rack of lamb and foie gras. Each bite was full of flavor and demonstrated the finesse that goes into French cooking.
The beef tartar also stood out as a dish worth recommending, especially for those who appreciate bold flavors. However, the portion sizes for some items like the roasted bone marrow and oysters felt a little on the smaller side.
Additionally, while service was generally good, there were minor details that could use improvement. The team was attentive, but little things—like not cleaning off bread crumbs after appetizers—detracted from the overall experience.
That said, the food arrived promptly, which helped keep the pace of the meal enjoyable. The price point, while a bit higher than average, felt justified given the quality of the dishes.

Great dining experience
“We came here to try raclette cheese and it was delicious! Especially with smoked duck and beef bacon. The atmosphere was romantic and pleasant. All the stuff was friendly and helpful, so all in all it was a great dinner. The only thing made us confused is that we couldn’t find the restaurant at first. There was no obvious signs or pointers on the street and inside the building. Maybe we just didn’t notice.”

Reasonable pricing
“The Sunday special cheese fondue was good, really yummy and pricing was reasonable. We had the escargot and it was good, the bone marrow was done well, you just need to add a bit of salt to it if it is bland, thats the only thing missing in this dish. Raclette looks good, will try that out another week. My friend told me Leon bread is a must there, totally agree, it is a must order, the bread is so soft inside, crunchy outside served with their homemade butter. Duck confit is not for me, the ones I had in France, looked and tasted different from this, nevertheless, their duck confit is still not bad, more like a duck leg with crunchy skin and tender meat, just a bit too salty for my liking. Would appreciate if your staff can mask up if they are coughing so badly and they have been spreading to each other. Also please do not clear customer’s escargot and bone marrow dishes before asking as I was still enjoying my bread dipping, they have tried to snatch it away 3 times 🙄🙄”

3. Yui Bar & Restaurant

Address: No 24, Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 1
Phone: +60125244514
Business Hours: Tuesday to Sunday – 12 to 11:30 PM
Yui Bar & Restaurant offers an intimate dining experience, where the open kitchen allows you to witness the chefs in action, preparing every dish with precision. The ambiance, though small, creates a cozy environment perfect for special celebrations.
Additionally, the signature dishes, such as their sourdough with kombu butter, bring a unique twist to the meal. The combination of flavors from the smooth butter to the truffle-infused somen is delightful, with the tender lamb shank as a highlight.
However, while the presentation and portion sizes were generous, some flavor combinations didn’t quite hit the mark. For instance, the wasabi sponge didn’t pair well with the hotate and uni, leaving the dish feeling a bit unbalanced.
Despite the minor issues, the execution was still commendable, and certain dishes, like the mentaiko risotto, were filling and packed with flavor.
The restaurant aims for a fine dining experience, but the lack of finesse in some dishes makes it feel slightly overpriced. Take note that their wild mushroom soup prepared over 12 hours, remains a crowd favorite and you must try it.

Extremely satisfied
“Our family dined here a few times and we were extremely satisfied with the service rendered and food served were of great quality. We noticed the efforts is in plating the food. On our last visit in February 2023, we tried their kombu truffle butter and my family just cannot forget the great umami taste. Finally I try contacting the restaurant and inquiring to purchase them. I bought more to share with friends. Great food is meant to be shared.”

4. Topshelf

Address: 61, Lorong Rahim Kajai 13
Phone: +601161777277
Business Hours: Monday to Saturday – 5 to 12 AM
Topshelf offers an elegant setting for those seeking a refined French dining experience. The atmosphere exudes sophistication, making it ideal for date nights.
The menu showcases classic French dishes like escargot, white wine mussels, and Iberico pork jowl, all presented with artistic flair. Additionally, their charcuterie cheese platter and truffle risotto are crowd favorites.
Moreover, service at Topshelf is attentive, with staff going above and beyond to recommend dishes and pair wines that enhance the dining experience. The Angus steak was well-seared and juicy, offering a satisfying bite.
On the downside, however, the main courses can be hit or miss. Some diners have noted that the portions are relatively small for the price, and while the presentation is impeccable, dishes like the mains, fall short in terms of flavor depth and satisfaction.
Starters and desserts shine like the freshly baked bread—the disparity between the quality of the sides and mains can detract from the overall value.
Despite this, Topshelf remains a solid choice for those looking to indulge in French cuisine, especially with their superb service and intimate ambiance.

Perfect place for date night
“They just renovated the place recently and it look really nice! Great instagramable place, and most importantly foods are awesome as I remembered it to be few years back. A perfect place for date night, gatherings in a quiet dinner spot. Would recommend their squid ink spaghetti, chicken liver pate and roasted corn! We didn’t manage to try the rest of the menu since it’s just both of us but will def come back with bigger group.”

While the course menu offers good value, certain elements can be hit or miss. For instance, the duck dish, which was highly anticipated, was unavailable during one visit. On the other hand, some diners found the desserts to be the highlight of the meal.
