We love their simple yet elegant cakes, as they look like something straight out of the cookbook, which isn’t a bad thing at all. This also goes for the overall flavour of these cakes because of how perfectly balanced each one tastes.

Our favourite among their offerings is the mango shortcake because of its timeless flavour. We can say with confidence that they use fresh mangoes for this cake because of their sweetness and natural taste.
Furthermore, we appreciate how they offer each of their cakes in different sizes. This way, we can easily order one for personal cravings, birthday celebrations and more.
Ambience-wise, we love the cosy and homey vibes of their Bangsar branch. Also, the combination of wooden finishes and white walls is a classic look that we’ll never get tired of seeing.

Fortunately, they offer more than just looks, as their cakes are quite amazing as well! As soon as you enter its doors, you’ll be greeted by their different offerings enclosed in their own little glass boxes to keep them chilled.
Seeing these delicious treats behind the glass never fails to make our mouths water because of how beautiful they look. Each cake looks like it’s been made to look like an attraction rather than a dessert, but trust us, it only gets better once you bite into them.
If you’re overwhelmed by the different cakes in this shop, we recommend going for some good ol’ chocolate truffle cake. When we tried this for the first time, we were surprised how it wasn’t overly sweet, which is a great thing!
This perfectly-balanced chocolatey flavour goes perfectly well with the spongey and luscious cake that they use as a base. Plus, you can also have them per slice or as a whole, so you can either grab them to-go or eat while basking under the elegant interior of the shop.
Obviously, the glaring problem of this cake shop would be its steep price. Even if we don’t think that it’s a viable place to go to for our cravings, it’s perfect for those special occasions when we want to spoil ourselves with something nice.

One of our go-to places, when we’re craving homemade cakes, is Suchan Pastiserrie in Taman Gembira. There’s just something extremely homey about their cakes that makes us feel like we’ve been transported back to our childhood.
Our absolute favourite trait about their cakes is that they’re not as sweet, and we mean that in the best possible way. This is because the lack of the usual sugary taste is made up for by the full flavour that each cake features, which is 10x better than those that are just sweet.
Anything from their menu can easily take the cake (no pun intended) for being their best offering, but we love their blueberry cheesecake. Their version of this all-time classic is amazing, partly because of how generous they are with their fresh blueberries.
Plus, the delectable cream cheese that they have over the cake is something to die for. It perfectly wraps over the crumbly base, which by the way, houses a delicious blueberry filling.
We also recommend them because of their diverse menu. Not only do they serve other products such as tea, cookies, ice cream cakes and more, but they also offer them in keto and non-keto versions.
If we were to nitpick something we didn’t like about this place, however, it would be the inconsistency of their coffee drinks. Don’t get us wrong, most of the items we ordered from their menu were spectacular, but occasionally, we would be disappointed with their drinks.

If you’re ever in Bangsar Village and you’re craving a slice of cake, drop by Bisou Bake Shop BV. This quaint spot is one of the best cake places in the capital because of the sheer variety they have on their menu.
When we checked their menu, we were initially overwhelmed by the different cakes and pastries. We eventually settled for their signature red velvet cake because of how beautiful it looked from their counter.
Fortunately, we made the right decision, as this cake had the right amount of sweetness that would make other red velvet cakes ashamed. Plus, the creamy icing perfectly complemented the distinct flavour of this cake, creating a balanced flavour that’s hard to come by these days.
Meanwhile, if you’re not quite sure which one to order from their menu, we recommend trying their 6-inch mixed slice cake. This cake is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, as it combines eight slices from different flavours to create this ultimate dessert.
Our only gripe with this particular branch is that it’s located within a food court, which kind of breaks the cosy vibes that they got going on. Nonetheless, we still love this place for its wide variety of cakes and other pastries.
