Growing up in a household where aquascaping is a big deal means this was a non-negotiable factor when I moved out. With a bit of research, I discovered that the city features a handful of these shops, and I’m here to share my favourite ones with you!
Whether you’re a seasoned aquarium owner or you’re just about to begin your own little biome at home, these stores will prove useful:
How much do aquarium shop products cost in Melaka?
Aquarium products like fish, tanks, and food start at RM13, RM100, and RM10, respectively. This varies depending on factors like the rarity and size of the fish, the dimensions and quality of the tank, etc.
1. Pets N Aquatic

Pets N Aquatic is a solid place for beginner fish owners because it’s a one-stop shop offering everything—tanks, fish, food, and more! They also offer a wide variety of aquascaping goods like driftwood and stones.
The store features well-maintained display tanks, providing their fish stock with a habitable environment. Furthermore, it makes for a more pleasant shopping experience.
Props to their customer service as well, as their staff members are kind and welcoming. The newbie customers I spoke with appreciate how the staff provided detailed tips on fish care and how to start their aquascaping journey.
On the downside, Pets N Acuatic doesn’t have an online store, so you’ll need to visit their store in Jalan Takh to check their stock. Nonetheless, they regularly update their Facebook and Instagram pages regarding new additions to their selection, with is great!

Malim Aquatic & Pets made a great first impression in our books. The friendly owner is super accommodating and knowledgeable, providing customers with useful tips to grow their collection.
We first came across this shop when we were looking to fill both our saltwater and freshwater tanks, and we’re happy that this shop has a great selection! From fish to tanks, food, and aquascaping goods—they have it all.
Their tank collection is worth highlighting, as it features a variety of designs and sizes. This is more impressive, knowing how they’re reasonably priced. Moreover, they also offer tank setup services where they’ll decorate your tank before adding in your newly bought fish.
We just hope that they have a website or, at the very least, a social media page that’s consistently updated, and it would be great to see their new arrivals. They’re very responsive to calls, so that’s an upside.

Melaka Aquatic Arena is well-known for its wide selection of betta fish. They offer this breed in various colours, like black, red, and brown, and even patterned ones like their premium Halfmoon and salamander betta.
One of our favourite things about this store is its wide array of fish tank essentials. For instance, they offer aeration devices, chlorella starter kits, high-precision water tester kits, etc.
We also love that they offer care and starter kits for their betta fish so new owners can get some form of assistance for their new pet.
Furthermore, all their products can be browsed in their online store, and they even offer free shipping when customers meet the required minimum spend! They also offer regular promotions throughout the year.
As varied as their selection of betta fish and accessories, however, I was disappointed to find out that they don’t sell fish tanks.

Ikia Aquaculture Technology is among the most famous pet shops in Melaka because of its wide variety of pets ranging from cats to hamsters, lizards, and of course, fish.
Their selection of fish is something to behold, as they’re beautifully displayed in their respective tanks. They have breeds ranging from simple janitor fish to colourful and rare bettas.
We also appreciate that they offer all the materials and essentials a fish owner might need. This includes food, aquarium cleaners, and aquascaping materials like wood and stone.
Another highlight-worthy factor about shopping here is the friendly and welcoming staff. They showcase their knowledge of their resident pets by offering pieces of advice about taking care of them.
However, we did notice some discrepancies regarding their products. Some people were disappointed with how quickly their newly bought fish passed right after purchasing them from this store, so we thought this might be worth mentioning.

Betta Aquarium and Pet Center is an all-around pet centre that offers different types of pets along with their respective essentials. Their aquatic section is the most impressive among the stores because of the variety of colourful species they have in their tanks.
This is a great store for both beginners and experienced fish keepers because of the aquarium essentials they offer, from the tanks to cleaning agents and aquascaping decorations.
The staff members here are worth commending too! They’re knowledgeable and helpful, and many beginner fish keepers we spoke with mentioned how the staff’s insights helped them get started.
We just wish that they’d arranged their layout better because the space isn’t that big, so people can’t move around much while shopping.
