1. Sunway Sanctuary
Address: 5, Jalan Lagoon Selatan, Bandar Sunway, Selangor
Phone: +60374951800
Business Hours: N/A
Sunway Sanctuary might just be the ideal spot for independent living during retirement. By the way, this place is a premium one that mirrors the grandeur of a 5-star hotel, which explains why their operating hours differ from other retirement living homes.
Now, we actually went there and spoke to current residents, and here’s what we found. First, the quality of care is top-notch without making you feel like you’re dependent.
The team seemed genuinely interested in ensuring residents were comfortable and happy. It’s clear they prioritize independence while providing support when needed.
The facilities are impressive too, with a gym, pools, lush gardens, and a beautifully maintained library.
You practically have all the perks of high-end living right at your doorstep here. And while the pricing is a bit higher than other places, residents shared that the amenities and services make it worthwhile.
Another thing we are iffy about is that their response times can be slow, often taking up to two days to respond.
Socially, Sunway Sanctuary excels. The community is vibrant, with plenty of activities and events to help you make lasting friendships.
Pros
- High-quality care
- Excellent amenities
- Active, lively community
Cons
- Higher cost
- Late response to online inquiries

Meticulous attention to detail and top-notch amenities
“An impressive walking tour led by Mr Bobby Yong. He shown us the various units to cater for individual needs and requirements. Awed by the details in their facilities and amenities like the library/reading room, mahjong and music rooms, in-house theatre, wellness centre, heated infinity salt swimming pool, an outdoor area for exercises, a well equipped gym and five star dining hall and lounges. Will certainly pass the word around to recommend friends to visit Sunway Sanctuary and be blown away by the top notch details in the entire set up.”

Ideal retirement community with outstanding value
“The perfect retirement environment.
Requires an upfront lease deposit that is refundable. The monthly maintenance fee plus sinking fund add up to less than a comparable condominium unit would cost.
The space, security, peace and comfort of the environment are hard to replicate in either a condo or a regular Taman of mixed residence. Best of all is the community spirit that develops among like-minded residents.”
— SV Singam, Google Review
Comprehensive and luxurious retirement living
“A great private retirement with beautiful homes for a price. There are good facilities both for healthy and social activities at the Club center.. They even provide transfer from the Green acres to Ipoh city at fixed schedule. Medical services are available on demand too. Good retirement home plans if you can afford it.”
