How many times have you encountered your pets resisting the moment they see a pet clinic or even just hearing the word vet? Call them stubborn, lazy, or everything in between, but I’m a firm believer that when they do this, it just means you haven’t found the right pet clinic!
As someone who has a golden retriever who can blow raptors out of the water in terms of zippy energy, I’ve had my fair share of wrestling bouts come vet time. For some reason, however, things got easier the moment we started going to a new pet clinic in Petaling Jaya!
So, with the help of my team, I’ve sought out PJ’s best pet clinics to help struggling pet owners out there during check-up time. Keep on reading and take a chance at one of our handpicked and reviewed prospects!

The average cost of pet clinics in PJ starts at RM25 for basic consultations, around RM40 to RM80 for vaccinations, and RM100 or more for spaying, grooming, etc.

Klinik Haiwan iVET PetCare was one of the most frequently mentioned options during our interviews, mainly due to its extensive range of services. For instance, it offers the usual services, such as neutering, vaccinations, and dental scaling.
However, what caught our attention were services not typically found in pet clinics, including acupuncture and laser therapy. Through further investigation, we discovered that these two services primarily promote cell growth and alleviate pain.
Our interviewees also told us that the main reason they keep returning here is the compassionate and expert veterinary staff. One of the things they highlighted was the vets’ patience in explaining their treatment plans thoroughly.
We also want to highlight the clinic itself because of its pleasing appearance and creature comforts. It doesn’t look like a medical facility, which immediately puts pets at ease, as per our interviews.
The only downside? They only cater to cats.

VEC Veterinary Clinic piqued our interest with its wide selection of medical services, which they’re able to provide through state-of-the-art tech. For instance, they’re one of the few clinics in PJ that offer ultrasonography and endoscopy, which are two great diagnostic services.
They also offer surgeries, and from what we’ve gathered from our interviews, they have an impressive success rate. Clients were also pleased at how their pets felt at ease during surgery, thanks to the gentle approach of the vets and staff members.
Other respondents told us that this is their go-to vet because of their in-depth wellness exams. It comes complete with various check-ups to make sure pets are in great condition.
We also appreciate how VEC caters to all types of pets, including hares and hamsters. They even offer various vaccinations and parasite prevention treatments for each one.
The clinic itself is well-maintained, and they put in an effort to make their waiting area comfortable. With all those good things, though, we weren’t surprised to see their pricey rates.

I brought my 7-year-old French Bulldog here after he accidentally swallowed a toy. Dr Foo impressed me with his experience and incredibly detailed explanations about the risks, anaesthesia process, and every step of the surgery.
He even went through the blood test results again just to make sure it was safe before proceeding.
You can really tell he knows exactly what he’s doing, especially with high-risk breeds like French Bulldogs.
The whole experience was smooth, the pricing was transparent, and the team genuinely cared for my dog.
If I had to mention one small downside, it would be that they don’t provide 24-hour overnight monitoring. But overall, their professionalism, clean environment, and dedicated care definitely deserve a 5-star review. Truly grateful for their expertise and support.”

Pets Health Veterinary Clinic and Surgery caught our attention because countless respondents told us how this clinic saved their pets’ lives. All of them credited it to the clinic’s vets, who they highlighted as gentle and professional throughout the procedure.
We also discovered that their vets are experienced in laboratory procedures as well, including blood tests. They’re also equipped with modern technology to provide accurate and timely results.
The waiting area, as well as the overall atmosphere of the place, is quite intimidating, though. It looks like a medical facility. While it’s practical, we hope they could improve this to enhance the overall experience.
Pets Health’s staff members were also praised during our interviews, stating their patience in explaining treatment plans as their strongest suit.
The clinic also has many regulars, mainly because of its solid selection of maintenance services. For instance, they offer mite and pest treatments, grooming, and basic consultations.
Furthermore, the clinic also sells a wide array of pet essentials, including food pellets, cages, and leashes—very convenient!

Vertex Veterinary Clinic was touted as an all-around pet care centre by our interviewees, highlighting its impressive array of medical procedures. For starters, they offer diagnostic services from simple wellness examinations to blood tests and ultrasound imaging.
A handful of our interviewees were also parents of pets who underwent surgery in the clinic. They told us how they immediately felt at ease when the vet thoroughly explained the procedure and offered reassurance.
We were also surprised to see that they offer microchipping, which helps furbabies reunite with their owners when they get lost. Parents who had their pets undergo this procedure told us that it was stress-free for both them and their furbabies, thanks to the gentleness of the staff.
The clinic was also well-maintained and offered a cosy interior decor, which is apt, since they also offer pet boarding services.
The only downside here is that they’re closed on Mondays. They do make up for this, however, by operating for 12 hours from Tuesday to Friday.

Hand N Paws was recommended to us by a friend who recently had their cats microchipped. We weren’t only pleased that they offered this service here, but we were also surprised by how reasonable their rates were compared to other pet clinics in the city.
The same goes for any of their other services, and through our interviews, we discovered that the affordable price range is the main reason why parents made this their go-to vet.
We also liked the clinic’s selection of services, which ranged from basic consultations to vaccinations, neutering, and blood tests. They’ve also got the complete set of equipment to execute these procedures.
We just wish that they could improve their appointment system because their phone line can be a bit unresponsive at times.
On the bright side, many regulars praised the vets of Hand N Paws because of their shown compassion towards animals. Furthermore, we were surprised that this clinic can also cater to exotic pets.
