One of the most affordable karaoke spots in Malacca is My Box Family Karaoke. We visited their establishment during the weekend and even then, their prices weren’t as expensive as other karaoke bars.
What we were impressed the most with was their up-to-date technology, more specifically with their 19-inch touchscreen song selector. Speaking of songs, we also appreciated how updated their catalogue was as we got to jam out to some of the newest tunes.
We opted for their Big Room which was okay for its price, especially considering that it came with two jugs of soft drinks and tidbits.
The drinks were served in plastic pitchers along with some cups for us to pour for ourselves. It’s not a premium presentation but it was still good for its price.
As for the room itself, it was designed modestly like your usual KTV rooms with bright neon lights and wall murals.
However, we found that the walls were mildly showing their age with some wear and tear.
Nonetheless, it was comfortable thanks to its air conditioning and comfortable seats.
We also ordered a drink for our group which was served in this plastic pitcher along with some cups for us to pour for ourselves.
Their location was great too and they had more than enough parking space. It wasn’t easy to find a parking spot during the weekends but we didn’t have that much of a hard time.
One department that we didn’t like about the establishment was its customer service as their staff aren’t as friendly and accommodating.
All in all, the place is still a great option if you’re looking for a quality KTV that charges reasonable prices for its rooms.
Pros
- Advanced karaoke song selector
- Cheap prices
- Easy parking
Cons
- Subpar customer service
- Okay rooms

“Satisfied with the big room. 2 mics with the third one attached to a stand is good for 5 of us, although the big room is big enough to fit 10 people. Recommended” —Nazrul Helmi, Google Reviews

A great place we visited that we think families would love is SF Superstar Family KTV. This karaoke spot offers reasonably-priced packages, great rooms and impressive sound systems.
We chose their medium room which accommodated our group of 4 people with some room to spare. Right off the bat, we were extremely impressed with the charming design of this room as it came with a beautiful wallpaper that featured Iron Man.
We also saw that their other rooms featured wallpapers like this with characters such as Hello Kitty, Disney princesses and more. This kind of design is why we recommend it for families as we’re sure that the kids are gonna love these wallpapers.
They also had a bunch of snacks that were appetising, and we eventually ended up with chicken wings, homemade pizza and fries. We loved the fries and wings but we found the pizza disappointing as it was small and consisted of only 4 slices.
Then again, we didn’t burn a hole in our pocket when we paid for them so we would say that the presentation and the taste were fair.
One of the biggest problems we had with this place, however, was that the smell of cigarette smoke would sometimes linger in our room.
The worst part is that none of us smoked, which means that the stench was coming from somewhere else. Other than that, however, our room was clean and tidy so we made sure to leave it in the same state.
Pros
- Charming rooms
- Comfortable and spacious
- Affordable
Cons
- Occasional smell of smoke
- Inconsistent taste and presentation of their snacks

Best karaoke in Malacca
“Great service from the crew, the whole environment are in a good condition. Just that inside the karaoke room having some cigarette smell makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable.
But anyhow I almost visited all karaoke available in malacca definitely the best among all. Would recommend a smoke detector inside the room and fine those who disobey the rule!” —Kael Chong, Google Reviews

If you’re on a budget and you want to belt out your favourite songs with your friends, we recommend Sing Family Karaoke in Malacca.
We were impressed to see the big room that we availed for just a cheap price. It features a typical KTV interior design with flashing bright and colourful lights which made us feel like we were partying in a nightclub.
It was also spacious and had ample space to house around 10 people which was perfect for our group. This kind of space also allowed us to stand up and dance freely without worrying about bumping into one another.
The downside with their room was that the microphones are still wired which is quite outdated for KTVs nowadays. It also hindered the mobility of whoever was singing, and whoever’s turn it was had to scooch in front of the TV.
Location-wise, we loved how accessible it was since it’s located in Mahkota Parade, one of the shopping malls in the city. Furthermore, parking wasn’t hard even when we visited during peak hours thanks to this location.
However, we were quite disappointed with their amenities as they only offered a limited selection of drinks and snacks. There were no a la carte meals as well which was a bummer since we were a bit hungry going in.
Pros
- Clean premises
- Affordable rooms
- Good-quality sound system
Cons
- Wired microphones
- Limited menu
- Outdated songbook

If you ever wanted to feel like you’re in the wild while you’re singing your favourite tunes with your loved ones, then Safari K-Box might be for you.
We opted for their VIP room which was relatively cheap compared to other rooms of this calibre from different karaoke spots.
Going inside, we were greeted with a nice wall mural of a bamboo forest along with some animal figures which is a common theme throughout their premises.
It was definitely a unique experience and a stray from the usual KTV room designs of neon lights and nightclub-like interior decor. Nonetheless, we liked it for what it brings to the table, and it was clean which was a huge deal for us.
What we loved about our VIP room were the inclusions that we got which included four jugs of iced tea, six bowls of snacks and three hours of karaoke. They didn’t include alcoholic drinks but it wasn’t a problem for us as we were content with our iced tea.
We also noticed several problems during our stay here which can be a deal breaker for some customers. For starters, the place didn’t have great ventilation so we occasionally smelled cigarette smoke while we were in our room.
The sound system for our room was good for the price as well. However, we found the microphone a bit too loud for our liking and there was no way to adjust it.
Fortunately, their friendly staff replaced it for us and were always willing to help us with what we needed.
Additionally, their songbook was outdated or at least during the time of our visit. We didn’t get to sing some of the latest western pop songs during our time here which was a bummer.
Pros
- Affordable rooms with tons of inclusions
- Cool safari theme
- Delicious drinks and tidbits
- Great customer service
Cons
- Outdated songbook
- Low-quality microphone
- Limited menu

Bernie’s Pub is a great karaoke spot to rock out to your favourite songs in front of your friends and other customers. The best way we could describe this spot is karaoke with live music.
Photo from: Bernie’s Pub
What we loved about this place was that we didn’t just get to sing in an enclosed room. Instead, we got to perform among other people in the pub while being accompanied by live instruments.
The place also served a myriad of drinks courtesy of their impressive collection of liquor on their bar. Their menu was inclusive as well as they offered drinks at different price points, all of which were tasty and refreshing.
Aside from karaoke, the pub also allows its customers to play pool which is a great way to pass the time while waiting for your turn in the open mic. We personally enjoyed this amenity as our team had a nice friendly competition to see who was the best at pool
The ambience of the pub itself was warm and chill. Plus, it had this feeling of being a community thanks to the open karaoke.
Of course, the obvious disadvantage of spending your karaoke night at a place like this is the lack of privacy. However, this wasn’t a deal breaker for us as we knew what we were expecting.
Overall, we enjoyed our time at Bernie’s Pub, especially with its wide selection of drinks and snacks. It was truly a happy experience that strays away from the typical KTV formula and succeeds in providing the utmost entertainment.
Pros
- Great vibes
- Live music
- Wide variety of drinks
Cons
- Lack of private rooms
