5 Fishing Stores in Klang Recommended by Expert Anglers
As a kid who practically grew up with a rod in hand, one of my non-negotiables when I was looking for a new home was a vibrant fishing community. Klang Valley landed on my radar not only because of its community but also because of its spectacular rivers (six to be exact!)
Furthermore, Klang’s selection of fishing stores isn’t too shabby either. However, not all of them are worth checking out and trust me, you don’t want to set out only to find out that you’ve bought a faulty rod.
So to help you avoid stores that are just baiting (see what I did there?) you to buying flawed equipment, I’ve listed down my go-to spots!
How much does fishing equipment cost in Klang?
Fishing equipment varies anywhere from RM2 to RM1,000 and more depending on the specific tool you’re looking to buy. Floats and hooks can cost around RM2 to RM10 while fishing rods may cost RM50 to RM1,000 depending on their features and quality.

Lure Haven Malaysia lives up to its name, thanks to its wide selection of fishing essentials. We also want to give them props because as many as their products are, it never feels overwhelming because of how well their store is organised.
The great thing about Lure Haven Malaysia is it has an official Shopee store. We’ve compared their products on this online platform and the ones they have on their physical shop and we were impressed to see that their selection is the same.
However, we still prefer shopping in their physical store because of their world-class customer service. Aside from being friendly, their staff members are extremely knowledgeable and they even provide recommendations based on the customer’s fishing goal.
Our only gripe is the slightly pricier rates, which gave us the impression that they’re mostly catered to enthusiasts as opposed to beginners. Nonetheless, we can’t deny the quality and variety of their products.

Anglers Central immediately caught our attention when we discovered that they offered worldwide shipping. More impressively, they’ll be the ones to provide their customers with the best shipping rates available.
We also appreciate that they offer an online store, as it saves us from having to drive to their store for something that’s potentially out of stock. Furthermore, we prefer shopping online, as it lets us view the current items they have on sale.
All the products they have on their shelves are of great quality, coming from top brands like Jetsetter, Shimano, Daiwa and more. The variety of their products piqued our interest as well, as they offered anything from rods to storage bags, fishing caps, etc.
However, several customers we interviewed were disappointed with their customer service, and they were dismayed that they weren’t entertained by anybody during their time at the store. Our experience with them was smooth, though, so we hope the staff can be more consistent.

LPM Pudu Tackle is a great option if you want to save money or when you’re just starting out as an angler. It offers reasonably priced but high-quality essentials from fishing rods to spinning reels, assist hooks and more.
We also appreciate how they offer second-hand items for those who are on an extremely tight budget. Honestly, we were skeptical at first but after seeing how their staff members carefully examined each item, second-hand didn’t sound so bad.
These staff members are also a huge factor in the store’s shopping experience, as they’re friendly and knowledgeable. Another plus is that they even allow their customers to test their products to check if they’re working well.
We do wish that they would improve their store’s layout and organisation, though, as it was slightly cramped when we visited.

Kepong Tackle is your no-frills fishing shop that offers a broad selection of fishing essentials. Among their selection, their ultralight rods are a standout, as they’re light as advertised while being effective at reeling in different types of fish.
We’re big fans of their variety because they offer categories at different prices. At the same time, they also offer higher-end brands to cater to experienced fishermen as well.
Another highlight here is the great customer service. Every time we visit, we’re always greeted with a friendly smile and we always appreciate their insightful information about their products.
We also appreciate that they have an official Shopee page that’s regularly updated. We may even go as far as saying we prefer shopping on this platform because of the exclusive vouchers.
As convenient as this online store is, however, we’ve heard several complaints from previous customers about getting the wrong item. Moreover, some were also dismayed by the slow turnaround time of their orders.

Young Fishing Tackle impressed us with its wide variety of advanced automatic reels. We immediately knew that they were offering the real deal, as they were made with durable materials and made by famous brands.
At the same time, we appreciate how they offer reasonably priced equipment for beginners. Moreover, we were also impressed with the variety of their lures and jigs, offering different categories like squid jigs, spoons, hard baits, etc.
Their official website also features an online store where customers can check which items are in stock. However, doing this lets you miss out on experiencing their fantastic customer service—their staff are so knowledgeable!
Some of their items are a tad bit overpriced for our liking though. We were also disappointed with their apparel section, as it only featured a single type of finger gloves—but hey, at least it serves its purpose.
