Food: Of course, the first thing we checked was the food’s quality, serving size and authenticity. We also considered the variety of their menu.

Restaurant: Next, we checked if the restaurant provided ample space for diners, a great ambience and if they followed standard hygienic procedures.

Customer service: We also assessed their staff members to see if they were able to provide fast and friendly customer service.

Services: Next, we looked if they offered other services on top of acupuncture.

Accessibility: We wanted to find restaurants that offered accessible locations and operating hours.

Value for money: Lastly, we considered if they offered good value for money.

The choices can be kind of a mixed bag though, as some restaurants will only allure you with its inviting neon signs and fail to deliver when it comes to their offerings. Heaven knows just how many times this happened to us—which is why we’re here!

To help you find the next destination for your food crawl, we’ve reviewed some of the best-rated Chinese restaurants in USJ! Keep on reading to find out why you should try them:

As you may have gleaned from its name, Mr Fish Fish focuses primarily on the seafood side of Chinese cuisine, more particularly, its mee hoon. What we love about their version of this dish is their generous serving size, which is more impressive considering their affordable prices.

The service is quite fast as well, as we didn’t have to wait more than 10 to 12 minutes for our food!

As for the place itself, it’s well-maintained and it’s designed beautifully with modern interior decor. It’s not the best ambience-wise, but we still appreciate it considering its fast food-like appearance.

One thing the restaurant can improve on is its menu, as it features a slightly limited selection of Chinese dishes. We can’t complain too much though, as they’ve nailed their noodle dishes to a tee—plus, the rates are pretty reasonable!

Pros

  • Wide variety of fresh seafood dishes
  • Reasonable prices
  • Well maintained
  • Nice ambience

Cons

  • Slightly limited menu
    Average ambience

Good portion and delicious noodles

“We have had fish head noodles at other places but this restaurant is serving a good portion and delicious noodles. They have a variety of types of noodles and rice too.

We’ve ordered fish head salmon noodles (milky), patin noodles (milky), a Japanese ramen set, fried mini shrimp & fried enoki mushrooms.

It is a pork-free restaurant. We are very pleased with the food and will definitely return to this restaurant or their branches.”

Two Pesos Hotpot immediately caught our attention because of its affordable hot pot sets. We’d usually consider hotpot as a once-in-a-while meal, but their reasonable prices made us think otherwise, and various other customers would agree!

Their bestselling hotpot packages include their Korean Army Pot and Italian Tomato Pot. If you ask us, however, their best offering is their seafood hot pot because of the fresh prawns and mussels that are waiting to be simmered in their flavourful broth.

Ambience-wise, we can’t really complain either, as it’s your typical hotpot joint, filled with bright lights, plastic chairs and wooden tables. What impressed us even more is how great their staff members are at maintaining the place clean so kudos to them!

The only downside to eating here is the slightly long waiting time, which is especially true when they’re jampacked. At the same time, however, this is a testament to how good their offerings are!

Pros

  • Affordable hot pot sets
  • Spacious and well-maintained dine-in area
  • Several inclusions with each hotpot package

Cons

  • Slightly long waiting time
    Average ambience

Customer service is very good

“I come here literally once every week. I like that the place is very clean. Customer service is very good also.

This place is perfect for 1-2 people who can’t eat a lot and the price is very reasonable also. Also very suitable for families to come for dinner. Many varieties of hotspots to choose from.”

– Eunice, Google Review

Food is nice and the atmosphere is good

“The food is nice, and the atmosphere is good. Very value-friendly place to come when you want to have a hotpot.

Ordered the sukiyaki hotpot and 2 peso BBQ Hotpot, and added on Taiwan minced meat rice and a milk tea.”

Hakshan USJ Taipan was recommended to us by a friend who recently visited Subang Jaya for a food crawl. He stated that this restaurant was one of the more upscale places to get Chinese dishes and upon visiting it ourselves, he’s not wrong at all.

The restaurant features a beautiful and modern interior decor that complements the equally beautifully presented dishes. Speaking of, the dishes here are staples of Chinese cuisine such as sweet and sour pork, steamed chicken and rice, braised pork belly, etc.

They taste as good as they look too, and we can gather from their flavours that the ingredients used are fresh!

We also appreciate that they feature an inclusive menu, featuring a wide array of vegetarian-friendly delicacies that are worth trying as well.

As for its downsides, the main one is the slightly pricier rates as opposed to the traditional restaurants you’ll find in the area. Granted that it’s a much more elevated dining experience, some people may be thrown off, especially considering the relatively smaller serving sizes.

Pros

  • Offers a wide variety of Chinese delicacies
  • Offers vegetarian options
  • Modern and well-maintained dining area

Cons

  • Above average prices

Very helpful staff

“Good atmosphere, clean restaurant and very helpful staff. Made an error in our order for 2 portions when it was supposed to be 1 portion. The staff made sure to check and verify if we actually wanted 2.

Staff noticed our table was wobbly upon placing the dish, and immediately transferred us to another table.

Very helpful. Very hospitable. Very mindful!”

– Aaron Paulraj, Google Review

Professional and trustworthy

“One of the best Hakka cuisine(if not the only) around the neighbourhood. The crowd will peak during lunch and dinner regardless of weekday/end. Portion size might be slightly smaller for the set albeit it’s sufficient for 1 pax.

Personally prefer the vinegar pork trotter and steamed salted chicken set.

*The establishment adopts/encourages donations to multiple charities in Subang with every meal spent*”

Grand Harbour is one of the classier Chinese restaurants in USJ, offering a beautiful and spacious dining area. It’s more than just looks, too, as it offers one of the most varied menus we’ve seen in the area featuring dishes like braised pork ribs, shark’s fin and steamed grouper.

One thing that stood out to us the most, however, is its selection of dim sum. Its menu has just about every variation of the dish from shrimp to pork, scallops and everything in between.

Aside from the food and the ambience, the staff members are worth highlighting as well thanks to their speedy and friendly customer service. We’ve been here a couple of times and they never fail to serve their customers with a smile, which we highly appreciate.

Our only problem with this restaurant is its expensive rates, which could be a red flag for some customers when they see the menu. However, we’d like to think that it’s good value for money thanks to the quality of the food, the freshness of the ingredients and the ambience.

Pros

  • Wide variety of Chinese dishes
  • Wide variety of dim sum
  • Classy and clean dining area
  • Great customer service
  • Generous serving sizes

Cons

  • Expensive

Attentive personal service

“The best private in KL city centre private dining room with its own washroom offers a wide dim sum menu steam on order (give 5-10 minutes) as an entree, seasonal lunar New Year waxed meat rice (or yum chicken rice alternative). And of course attentive personal service to top it all.”

– K T, Google Review

Service and ambience are impeccable

“Checking out another Chinese banquet restaurant for reunion dinner – on recommendation by a relative. Easier parking given the relatively lower footfall at this shopping mall. Family of 2 adults and 2 children.

Sampled a few dim sum – plump and savoury. Yong Zhou fried rice quite quite a standard affair. We also shared a red bean with glutinous rice vall dessert and Chinese pancakes with lotus paste filling – these were quite good.

Service and ambience are impeccable. Even a private washroom within the banquet hall.”

Dragon-i Peking Duck Restaurant offers a solid selection of Chinese delicacies. Their menu features staples like sweet and sour pork, dumplings, dim sum, fish rolls and more but what’s more impressive is how reasonable their prices are.

Flavour-wise, we could really tell that they exert efforts in providing authentic dishes. Furthermore, we appreciate that they use fresh ingredients to make their dishes, especially their seafood offerings, which are so fresh!

Speaking of, their braised lobster with yee mee is a standout on their menu. The sweet and tender white meat paired with the tangy sauce and succulent noodles is a great combination and we’ve got to give them props for that.

The only thing they could improve upon is their long waiting times, which can be frustrating. The first time we went here, we thought it was just because of how jampacked the place was but after a couple of visits, it was something that we just learned to go with.

Pros

  • Offers a wide variety of dishes
  • Reasonable prices
  • Good ambience
  • Generous servings

Cons

  • Long waiting times

A great place to dine for authentic and delicious Chinese food

“Excellent food and service paired with a classy Chinese-inspired aesthetic. We tried many dishes, and all were delicious. The staff were very welcoming, and always topped off our drinks without asking and with a smile!

Our favourite dish was the red braised pork (红烧肉), which had a perfectly balanced sauce and meat that melted in the mouth. The truffle xiao long bao was good too, albeit the truffle aroma was not as strong as other competitors. Every other dish was good.

Overall a great place to dine for authentic and delicious Chinese food, highly recommended!”

– Lucien Lim, Google Review

Perfect presentation and flavour balance

“Exquisite food prepared with high-quality ingredients, often locally sourced or seasonal. Menus are carefully curated, featuring innovative dishes or elevated classics, with perfect presentation and flavor balance.

Attentive, professional, and highly trained staff who anticipate guests’ needs and provide personalised service. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, offering recommendations that suit individual tastes.

Elegant and thoughtfully designed interiors that create a luxurious or cozy atmosphere.

Love their Xiao long bao,  三杯鸡 and ma po taufu”
