Gopeng River should be on your radar if you want a bit more challenging whitewater rafting experience. It’s the perfect place to hone your rowing skills as a team, as it consists of numerous thrilling splashes across its 14 different level drops.

If that’s not enough to tantalise your adrenaline-seeking nature, you must know that the river’s rapids take your raft through ridiculous speeds! There is a silver lining, though, which is the beautiful surrounding views of lush rainforests, caves, and limestone cliffs.

We also chose Gopeng White Water Rafting as our guide because they offer an excellent, comprehensive package. Their experience includes a river and water rescue guide, safety boats, drinking water, and insurance coverage.

Pro tip:

If you’re not ready for this type of action, you can opt for a more laid-back experience through water tubing! The experience is the same with those lazy river attractions in waterparks, where you’ll go with the flow of the river’s gentle stream.

Kuala Kubu Bahru is frequented by companies holding their team building because of its thrilling rafting experience. It’s one of those rivers that are sure to get you and your friends overboard at least once, thanks to its fast crashing waves.

Throughout the ride, you’ll hit a few bumps here and there, and it’s your task as a team to stay afloat! However, crashing is part of the experience, and there’s no real threat in doing so since the river is mostly shallow, and you’ll be equipped with safety gear.

What’s great about Projek Outdoor is its personable and experienced team of instructors. They’ll be with you throughout the ride, and afterwards, they’ll lead you to a shallow part of the river where you can reward yourself with a cannonball into the cold water.

Pro tip:

Before or after rafting through Kuala Kubu Bahru, stop by Empangan Sungai Selangor Viewpoint to enjoy stunning views of Sungai Selangor along with its surrounding lush rainforest.

If you’re looking for a quick getaway from Kuala Lumpur, Ulu Slim should be on your radar because it’s only an hour and a half drive away from the city. It’s a complete contrast to the skyscraper-filled city, as the buildings are replaced with lush trees and rock formations.

As with most of these rivers, Ulu Slim is guaranteed to give you a thrilling experience with its multiple level changes, bumps, and steep turns. You can manoeuvre the raft yourself, but don’t worry if things go south because an instructor will also be on board with their own paddle.

Aside from their expert instructors, we also recommend Xventure Mind because of their value-for-money package. For less than RM200 per person, you’ll enjoy a complimentary lunch, equipment, a personal guide, and 4WD transport!

Pro tip:

Consider visiting during summer to make sure your trip doesn’t get spoiled by the rain. Plus, it’s extremely satisfying to bathe in the river’s waterfall during the dry season!

If there’s ever an award given to the most natural-looking slides in the country, Sungai Sedim may just take the cake. It consists of multiple drops where the raft won’t just fall to the next level, but instead slide down massive, huge stones.

It’s all part of the fun, especially when the cold water splashes everyone on the raft upon contact. Furthermore, the variety of obstacle courses throughout the 2-kilometre track makes the experience a bit more interesting and challenging!

If that’s not enough to challenge you, the speeds you will gain after sliding down the river’s tiers will! With the Rapid Fire team on your back, however, you won’t have to worry about a thing—in fact, they’ll lead you into the exciting parts of the river.

Pro tip:

If you’re craving a different type of adrenaline rush, you can also rent ATVs at the Sedim Riverside Resort! Moreover, this resort also offers a flying fox attraction, which is a 120-metre zipline.
