It’s a lively, authentic experience where you’ll find everything from fashion and accessories to household goods and souvenirs. Don’t forget to try some street food along the way — the smells are irresistible. You’d be missing a trick if you didn’t leave with a bag full of local delicacies. 

The best bit? You get to haggle to your heart’s content. It’s like being part of a colourful, noisy, joyfully chaotic scene from a movie.

There’s a thriving hawker food scene that brings visitors from all around the region, and you can also find modern conveniences, such as supermarkets and sports facilities. Whether you’re up for a peaceful walk or a feast of delicious local food, Alam Damai has you covered.

Bandar Tun Razak


Adjacent to Taman Connaught, Bandar Tun Razak boasts a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational facilities. It’s known for the scenic Permaisuri Lake Garden, a favourite spot among locals for leisure activities and picnics. 

The neighbourhood also hosts a number of notable educational institutions and medical centres. If you’re in for some local shopping, check out the lively night market that springs up weekly. 

Make sure to sample the delicious street food there, with delicacies ranging from satay skewers to refreshing local desserts.

Taman Bukit Anggerik


On the south side of Taman Connaught, Taman Bukit Anggerik offers a quieter and more residential vibe. The neighbourhood is loved by locals for its close-knit community spirit and family-friendly amenities.

On top of that, it boasts an array of local eateries that serve mouthwatering dishes from various Malaysian cuisines. Don’t miss out on the char kway teow, a popular noodle dish stir-fried in soy sauce that is a staple in this part of town.

Taman Taynton View


This residential neighbourhood, located to the north of Taman Connaught, is a hidden gem in the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. Taman Taynton View is home to a number of local food joints and small businesses that cater to its diverse population. You’ll find streets filled with trees, adding to the tranquil vibe of the area. And, if you’re a food lover, you’ll be thrilled with the array of delicious treats on offer, from steaming bowls of laksa to sweet, icy chendol.

Taman Mutiara Barat


Taman Mutiara Barat, just a short drive from Taman Connaught, offers a wonderful suburban experience with plenty of green spaces to explore. It is surrounded by amenities such as shopping malls, eateries, and recreational parks. 

Pay a visit to the Taman Mutiara Wet Market for a glimpse into the local way of life, where residents come to shop for fresh produce and household essentials. As you walk around, you’ll encounter friendly locals who’ll be more than happy to share their favourite nearby food spots or attractions.

Taman Segar is a bustling neighbourhood located just north of Taman Connaught. It’s a hotspot for foodies, with a host of hawkers and food stalls offering a myriad of delicious local fare. It also houses the Leisure Mall, a popular shopping destination among locals. 

The neighbourhood is a vibrant mix of residential and commercial establishments, and it is also home to many small parks and green spaces where you can relax and soak in the local atmosphere. 

Be sure to explore the local food scene, where you can sample a wide range of Malaysian cuisine, from spicy nasi lemak to fragrant curry laksa.

Tropical: Taman Connaught, like the rest of Kuala Lumpur, enjoys a tropical rainforest climate which is warm and sunny, along with abundant rainfall, especially during the northeast monsoon season from October to March. The temperature in the city ranges from 77°F to 95°F and is rarely below 75°F or above 98°F.

Hot Season: The period from March to September is considered the hot season, with an average high temperature above 91°F. The hottest month is May, but even during this time, the heat is often tempered by late afternoon and evening downpours.

Monsoon Season: Between October and March, the northeast monsoon brings heavy rainfall, particularly in November and December. This can cause some localised flooding, but it’s usually over pretty quickly, and the sun tends to reappear soon afterwards.
