Learn while having fun at the Petrosains, The Discovery Centre

Anyone who has ever said that learning isn’t fun hasn’t been to Petrosains. This science and discovery museum features a plethora of galleries and exhibitions that will make you scream with glee, stand in awe and learn something new at the same time!

Your little kiddos will surely enjoy their time here, especially with the interactive and educational games and workshops like speed skiing and Mind Game. They’ll also discover a bunch of “science-y” stuff about prehistoric animals, volcano eruptions and more.

The biggest highlights here, however, are the ones they dubbed the Seven Wonders of the Petrosians. This includes a high-tech hurricane simulator, a fully controllable Martian rover, a dark carnival-like ride, a 3D theater and more.

If your kid wants to live life to the extreme, then you should take them to i-City Theme Park! It’s where they’ll find a myriad of theme park rides that will leave them seeing double afterwards—granted that they’re above the height requirements, of course.

Furthermore, this theme park also offers go-kart racing for kids and adults! They have a huge track complete with various twists and turns that will put your drifting skills to the test—better channel your inner Lewis Hamilton!

Another highlight that your kids will surely love is the City of Digital Lights, which is the reason this place is hailed as one of the brightest places in the world! You can sit on one of the benches of the park and watch the dazzling lights while munching on theme park snacks.

If you’ve always wanted to let your kids experience snow like in the movies, then you should check out this theme park’s SnoWalk Aurora! This attraction features a charming small town blanketed by artificial snow where kids can freely run around and play.

One thing that we can all agree on is kids LOVE seeing animals, and we’re not just talking about house pets! This is why we highly recommend bringing your kids to Zoo Negara, as it’s home to over 5,000 animals—how crazy is that?

As you walk through the many zones, watch as your kids drop their jaws when they see some of the rare animals housed in this zoo. Hear the growl of the tiger, laugh at giant pandas and be in awe of colorful birds, these are just some of the things you can experience while you’re here.

Zoo Negara even allows you to interact with some of these animals! For instance, your kids can feed some of the gentle animals here like deer, rabbits and goats their favorite snacks.

Aquaria KLCC is another place that your kids will surely love because of the variety of animals that they’ll get to meet. This time, however, they’ll get to see some of the most majestic creatures from the ocean’s depths!

It’s considered one of the top 5 aquariums in Asia and it’s not hard to see why with its collection of 5,000+ species. What we love about this place is that these sea creatures aren’t cramped up in tight aquariums, allowing them to live as they would on the ocean—everybody wins!

The main highlight of your visit here, however, is the 90-meter transparent underwater tunnel, where you’ll feel like you’re exploring the ocean. Here, you’ll be surrounded by fish, sharks, stingrays and everything in between, so make sure to stop every once in a while to snap pics!

Pro tip:

We recommend booking your visit during the feeding time of some of the animals here, This way, you can see a free show where divers will hop into the aquarium and feed different kinds of fish their favorite snacks.

Conquer great water slides at Sunway Lagoon

If you visit Klang Valley during its dry season, Sunway Lagoon would be one of the places to check out with your kids. Not only will this spot help you cool down, but it will also treat you to some of the most thrilling water slides ever!

One of the biggest highlights here is the Vuvuzela, which is the largest vortex slide in the world, which makes it equal parts terrifying and exciting! It will drop you 11 storeys high to a long slide that consists of various twists and turns, leaving you screaming your lungs out.

If your kids aren’t fond of these types of rides, don’t worry! There are tons of other family-friendly attractions here like the Little Zimbabwe, which is like an aquatic playground, complete with climbable structures, slides and more!

If you’re planning on visiting this spot for multiple days, we recommend checking out their Lagoon Villas. These villas are located in the heart of the theme park and they’ll let you stay overnight underneath the starry night sky.

Ride ziplines at SKYTREX Adventure

SKYTREX Adventure is a great spot where you can start your kids young with some extreme activities. Don’t worry though because the staff here are the most professional people you’ll ever meet and they’ll make sure to keep you and your family safe!

One of my best moments in this place was with their zipline, which runs across a beautiful panoramic rainforest. It’s not as fast as I would’ve liked, but it’s completely made up for by the beautiful views that I got to see during my time up there.

They also feature something called the Sky Camp, which lets you stay overnight amidst the lush rainforest with your loved ones. Instead of just being a regular camping trip, however, you’ll be provided with great social activities so you can interact with other campers!

Pro tip:

Be sure to book your tickets online through their official website! Their online rates are much cheaper compared to walk-ins and you’ll be able to skip the line and immediately secure your spot for your desired dates.

Play like a kid again at SuperPark Malaysia

You can think of SuperPark as a gigantic indoor playground, filled with different zones that feature several attractions. 

You’ve probably taken your kids to the playground numerous times, but SuperPark Malaysia does things differently because it lets you play together!

Whether it be going down slides, riding pedal go-karts or climbing obstacle courses, this indoor playground will allow us adults to have fun with our younglings! This means no more sitting on the park bench, as you’ll have just as much fun—hooray for parenting!

There are over 25 different attractions in this massive playground so be sure to dedicate at least 2 hours out of your day to enjoy everything it has to offer. Don’t worry though, as you won’t feel the time while you’re bouncing like a kid again on one of their adult trampolines!

Pro tip:

Bring your own grip socks when visiting this park so that you don’t have to pay extra for a new pair! Furthermore, we recommend visiting on weekdays to avoid crowdedness and to get a chance to store your stuff in one of their free lockers.

Try freefalling at Windlab Indoor Skydiving

Always wanted to try skydiving but just can’t push yourself to face your fear of heights? Then you should check out Windlab Indoor Skydiving, as it offers the same experience, but in an enclosed space!

The best part about this is that your kids can join in on the fun too, as there will be a professional in the tunnel to guide you. Granted that it’s not the same as actually skydiving, you are getting all the fun that comes with it thanks to the high-tech simulation that they use.

It’s quite realistic, as you’ll feel a falling sensation as you float aimlessly in the air. You can even strike different poses and pull off various tricks while you’re inside—pretty cool!

Pro tip:

As much as possible, we recommend visiting this place from Monday to Friday, as they offer cheaper tickets during the weekdays (holidays excluded).

If your kids love to play video games and you want them to be active every once in a while, take them to VAR LIVE MY! Trust us, even you will enjoy your time here because of how fun and immersive its games are.

By putting on their peripherals, you’ll be transported into different worlds, from fantasylands to horror apocalypse and more. What makes these worlds believable is the set that accompanies each game.

For instance, there’s this action-shooter video game where you’ll be given a rifle prop to go alongside your virtual goggles. Before you know it, you’ll feel like an action star dodging bullets and mowing down hordes of enemies.
