Pulau Ketam

Let’s Crab a Good Time: Unleash Your Adventure in Pulau Ketam!

Many refer to Pulau Ketam as “Crab Island,” and for good reason! Fresh, delicious crabs are practically a birthright here.

I can still remember my first bite—sweet, succulent flesh dipped in a perfectly tangy sauce. All these while the waves gently lapped against stilts beneath my feet. Paradise!

But Pulau Ketam offers more than just a crustacean feast. Though some may consider it a tourist trap, we think the island’s rustic charm, friendly locals, and colourful shophouses are worth the exploration!

To capture this authentic experience, our intrepid team went on a mission to uncover Pulau Ketam’s hidden gems. We explored bustling markets and quiet backstreets, and then devoured our fair share of crabs (research is hard work!).

Read on to discover what we uncovered!

Best Time to Go

When planning a trip to Pulau Ketam, timing is key to make the most of your visit. The best time to go is during the dry season, which typically runs from April to September.

During these months, you’ll enjoy less rainfall and more sunny days, ideal for exploring the outdoor charm of the island. The weather is generally warm and pleasant, perfect for strolling through the village, cycling, or indulging in seafood by the water’s edge.

However, it’s advisable to avoid public holidays and school vacations when the island can get quite crowded with local tourists.

Visiting on weekdays or during off-peak times allows for a quieter, more intimate experience, giving you a genuine feel of the island’s laid-back lifestyle.
