When it comes to seeking peace in the middle of a concrete jungle like Kuala Lumpur, Kebun Kebun Bangsar is one of the best places to do it. It’s a community garden in the capital where visitors can enjoy feeding farm animals and soaking up stunning views of the city from afar.
This place has been a go-to spot for me and my family for a couple of years now whenever we need a quick getaway from Kuala Lumpur’s city centre. With that being said, you can call me a sort-of-expert around these parts!

Where is Kebun Kebun Bangsar?
Kebun Kebun Bangsar is nestled in a residential area along Lorong Bukit Pantai. It’s located between the streets of Jalan Bukit Pantai and Jalan Taban and it sits on the hillside giving visitors a nice view of Kuala Lumpur.

How to Get to Kebun Kebun Bangsar
Closest train stop: The closest train station is Kerinchi LRT Station (KJ18), which operates on the 5 Kelana Jaya Line. From there, you can walk to Kebun Kebun Bangsar, which would take around 16 minutes, or ride a taxi.
Closest bus stop: The closest bus stop is the KL1914 Lucky Garden. Alternatively, you can also ride a bus going to Bangsar Village/Bangsar Telawi Bus Stop and walk towards Kebun Kebun Bangsar.
Taxi/Grab: Taxis are everywhere in KL and it’s a great method of transportation if you want to be directly dropped off at Kebun Kebun Bangsar. Alternatively, you can also book a ride through the Grab app if you want to be picked up directly from your location.
Rental car: Driving a rental is the most comfortable way of getting to Kebun Kebun Bangsar and since it’s located in a residential area, you can drive directly towards it. Keep in mind, however, that there’s only space for 8 cars in the parking lot beside the entrance.

If you’re visiting Kebun Kebun Bangsar, you’re most likely trying to escape the horns and city noise of KL, and we don’t blame you! It’s such an accessible getaway that you can easily get to whenever you want to be surrounded by nature and get away from your daily hustle and bustle.
This place will let you stroll through vegetable plots, beautiful flower-filled gardens, abstract structures and more. You can even admire majestic farm animals as they go about their daily lives, which brings me to my next point…
Befriend adorable farm animals
Aside from the stunning views, the real stars of the show here are the adorable farm animals that are living their best lives. We’re always blown away whenever we see the number of animals they have in this community garden.
From chickens to cows, ducks, sheep and more, you can get up close and personal with these peaceful creatures and even interact with them! For instance, you can feed the ducks with some of their favourite snacks so that you can gain a new feathered friend.
Keep in mind that you have to purchase your own animal feed if you want to try this activity. If you don’t want to spend any money, don’t worry because you can still pet some of them or take tons of cute photos together!
Enjoy beautiful views of Kuala Lumpur
One thing about Kuala Lumpur is that no matter how much you want to escape its busy nature, you can’t deny its beauty. This is why we highly recommend going to Kebun Kebun Bangsar even if you’re just going to catch glimpses of the city’s gorgeous skyline.
Anyone can do this and various spots serve as great vantage points. However, the best one is at the top of the small hill by the farm, which will require you to do a bit of hiking but hey, that’s part of the fun!

Try your hand at various workshops
As much as possible, we recommend setting your mind like an open book while visiting Kebun Kebun Bangsar. This is because you can participate in various workshops here that could help you learn a new skill to apply to your daily life.
For instance, there’s this one activity where you can harvest different kinds of mushrooms when they’re ripe for the picking. Furthermore, you can also learn a thing or two about different kinds of vegetables during these engaging workshops!
We advise visiting on weekends if you’re planning on participating on these advantages. Moreover, it’s also during the weekends when they’ll open a fresh market where you can score the freshest vegetables in town!
Volunteer for the needy
What’s more fulfilling than knowing you’ve helped somebody in your own little ways? Well, that’s exactly what you can do if you volunteer for the underserved at Kebung Kebung Bangsar!
This program is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, so you only need to spend three hours out of your day just to make someone’s day better! Using your energy and perseverance, you can help out by doing various farm tasks.
If you’ve always wanted to know what it’s like to be a farmer, this is the perfect way to live out that fantasy for a couple of hours without commitment. Some of the tasks that you may be asked to do include herding livestock, gathering harvests, tending to the garden and more.
Treat your fur babies to a fun walk
One of our absolute favourite things about Kebun Kebun Bangsar is that it’s completely pet-friendly! So if you have dogs or cats at home, you can bring them to this hidden gem and let them enjoy a nice and peaceful walk.
Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones
Of course, a visit to this hidden paradise wouldn’t be complete without arranging a picnic with your loved ones. This is also a great way to save money during your trip as well as you can prepare everything at home!
There’s no additional payment for bringing outside food so don’t worry! Plus, there are long tables around the farm where you can set up all your food, just remember to clean up after yourself.

If you’re looking to be immersed in Malaysia’s rich cuisine, then Sri Nirwana Maju should be on your radar! It’s a fantastic banana leaf restaurant that serves some of the country’s best dishes like nasi lemak, chicken varuval, banana leaf rice and more.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for something that you haven’t tried in other countries before, we highly recommend ordering their fish head curry. On paper, it may not seem as appetising as we’re advertising it right now but trust us, it’s one of the richest dishes you can try here.
We can also recommend the fried squid for your starter! They’re the perfect entryway dish that will introduce you to some of the flavours that you’ll get with the rest of their offerings.

The Ganga Cafe @ Bangsar is undoubtedly one of the best Indian joints in the area and for several good reasons! For starters, they feature an impressive variety of Indian dishes like murtabak, palak paneer, naan and more.
If you’re like us, however, and you aren’t too familiar with Indian cuisine, we recommend starting with pani puri. It’s a famous street food in India and it’s a great way to introduce yourself to the spicy flavour that this country is famously known for.

For those times when you’re craving seafood, there’s no better place to stop by than Ombak Kitchen Bangsar! This restaurant is known for serving the biggest, freshest and tastiest crabs in Kuala Lumpur—we’re already salivating just thinking about it!
The main stars of their menu are the Alaskan king crabs, which are just as gigantic as they advertise. This species of crab features notably longer legs, which is where you’ll find all of its sweet and juicy meat!
These crabs will also be served alongside a bunch of signature sauces, with varying levels of spice. If you want to enjoy it the old-fashioned way, you can just dip these babies into some nice melted butter—yum!
