Where is Gopeng Glamping Park?
Gopeng Glamping Park sits amidst a lush forest near the village of Kampung Chulek. It’s accessible via the Jln Hussin road if you’re coming from the main road of Jalan Ipoh – Kampar.
How to Get to Gopeng Glamping Park
Taxi: If you want to prioritise comfort, the best action to take would be riding a taxi or a ride-sharing service to Gopeng Glamping Park. It’s also one of the fastest ways to get there, taking only one and a half hours to complete.
Of course, the only caveat here is the price, as a taxi ride this long can easily set you back around RM150 to 200.
Train: Riding the train is a great option for those who are looking to save money but don’t want to experience a stressful commute. If you’re coming from KL, you can take a train from the KL Sentral Station going to Kamunting Station.
The overall train ride will take about one and a half hours and cost right around RM20 to 30, which is great value for money! From Kamunting Station, you can proceed to hail a taxi to go to the glamping park, which would take an additional 15 minutes.
Plane: If you’re coming from outside Terengganu, we recommend boarding a plane going to Sultan Mahmud Airport (TER) in Kuala Terengganu. From there, you can easily rent a car or ride a taxi to the beach, which would take around an hour.
Why go glamping at Gopeng Glamping Park?
Wide Array of Activities
One of the things that sets this place apart from other glamping spots in Malaysia is its wide variety of activities. It’s also one of the reasons why we frequently visit this place, as we love to try new things that will either make us scream with adrenaline or relax with serenity.
For instance, if you’re looking to try something that will put you on the edge, you can go scream at the top of your lungs while whitewater rafting. On the other hand, if you’re looking to try something more relaxing, you can rent a bicycle and experience a serene bike ride.
Family-Friendly Fun
Another reason why I love going here with my family is because it offers something for every member! Whether you’re coming with kids or the elderly, you can expect them to have just as much fun as you thanks to the park’s accessible facilities.
Kids can enjoy running around the park or riding their bicycles while the elderly can rest outside the tents and be treated to beautiful views—everyone wins! Also, speaking of beautiful views…
Unique Nature Views
It’s not something new for a glamping spot to have spectacular views, but there’s just something about Gopeng Glamping Park’s surroundings that will take your breath away. For starters, the park itself is surrounded by tons of hills and a lush forest—it doesn’t get more remote than this!
There are even rivers that you can both admire and dip into! It’s beautiful natural landscapes like these that gives the park’s surroundings that unique and charming feel.
You can also go hiking on one of the mornings you’ll spend on the campsite to catch spectacular views of the natural surroundings during the sunrise. Don’t take our word for it though, as describing it here won’t do it justice!
Comfort and accessibility
I personally think that what makes or breaks a glamping site is its accessibility and amenities, and fortunately, Gopeng Glamping Park excels in both! This is also what makes it perfect for the entire family, as it provides everything a guest may need to make them feel at home.
For starters, the tents here are equipped with modern amenities, from air-conditioning to comfortable beds and linens, etc. It’s not always that you can experience these luxuries while staying amidst nature!
Furthermore, the campsite also features notable facilities like the bonfire, where guests can socialise with one another. Lastly, we also appreciate that the site has clean toilets—an instant A+ in our books!
Disconnection
With the stunning views you’ll see during your stay here, you’ll be forced to temporarily disconnect from your real-world problems. This is why you’ll find tons of people here who are looking to get away from their everyday lives, as it allows them to “hit the refresh button”.
You can also reconnect with nature, which is important to experience from time to time, as it gives you some newfound appreciation in your daily life. These can all be achieved by relaxing under the stars, admiring the beautiful surroundings and even taking a deep breath!
Delicious dishes
Another thing that sets this glamping spot apart from others is its wide variety of delicious food, courtesy of its buffet-style restaurant! This restaurant offers an impressive selection of local Malay food that will leave you salivating once you get a whiff of their aroma from the kitchen.
Furthermore, we think that having this kind of luxury in this glamping spot adds another layer of convenience to the overall stay. Unlike usual camping experiences where you’d have to bring and cook your own food using makeshift tools, this glamping spot prepares everything for you!
What to Do and See in Gopeng Glamping Park
Engage in a paintball war
If you’re coming with your friends, one of the best things you can do is shoot each other with paintballs! You can even turn the experience into a friendly competition to see who’s the best marksman out of your group and trust us, it does get intense sometimes.
Not only is it a fun and exciting activity, but it’s almost a therapeutic thing to do, especially if you’ve been bottling up some intense stress lately. Don’t worry though, as all of you will look cool and decked out with all the protective gear you need to avoid injuries.
A game of paintball in the park costs RM80 per person, which isn’t too bad considering that the activity lasts for 2 to 3 hours. Plus, if it means that you’ll get to hone your teamwork skills, then this is indeed an amazing deal!
Ride ATVs while sightseeing
Gopeng Glamping Park does a great job of combining fun activities with amazing views—case in point, their ATV Fun Ride. As you may have gleaned from its name, this activity lets you take control of one of the park’s all-terrain quadbikes and ride it across the village.
It’s one of the best ways to see the surrounding views of the park, as it lets you pass through various points of interest like the village, limestone hills and the forest. You don’t need to have driving experience to ride one of these bad boys and the overall ride will be slow, so don’t worry!
There will be tons of photo opportunities throughout the trip so be sure to wear your brightest smiles! Speaking of the trip, the overall ride will take one to one and a half hours and will cost RM120 per ATV—not bad if you ask us!
Go whitewater rafting
If you’re looking for that kick of adrenaline during your glamping trip, then whitewater rafting should be right up your alley! This activity will make you feel like you’re in one of those fast-paced blockbuster movies, but this time you’re in charge of the boat itself.
What we love about Gopeng Glamping Park’s version of this activity is that they can also cater to kids who are looking to get their own taste of excitement. They do this by skipping all the dangerous rapids and focusing on the more accessible parts of the river.
It’s one of the best value-for-money activities that the site offers, as each boat will only cost RM350, which could then be split into 4 passengers. The activity also lasts for around 3 hours so you’ll be getting your money’s worth for sure!
Hike to the peak of Batu Putih Hill
Gopeng Glamping Park doesn’t fall short of stunning sights, and the best one is arguably the sunset seen from the top of Batu Putih Hill. Before you can reach this spot, however, you need to conquer a 300m hike.
Don’t worry though, the trail is fairly accessible, even for beginners! Plus, you’ll be granted one of the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever see in your entire life, so your efforts won’t go in vain!
If that isn’t enticing enough, you’ll be pleased to know that this activity only costs RM50 per person.
Explore wonderful caves
You can’t leave Gopeng Glamping Park without availing of their cave exploration package just because you’ll be missing out on an opportunity of a lifetime. More specifically, you’ll miss the chance to explore one of Malaysia’s most wonderful caves, Gua Tempurung.
Here, you’ll get down and muddy as you explore every crevice of this cave system, from its tunnels down to its chambers. Your efforts will be rewarded though, as you’ll get to see some beautiful natural rock formations inside these inner chambers.
Plus, you’ll have a guide with you to make sure that everything goes smoothly during your spelunking adventure!
