Foods to Try in Lot 10 – 8 Options You SHOULDN’T Miss!
As a kid, I would always be excited for the weekends because my family and I would usually go to Lot 10 Shopping Centre.
Being one of Malaysia’s best markets, they would come there to shop, restock the pantry or whatever grown-ups do in malls. Personally, I would just look forward to where we’ll eat!
Now that I’m a fully grown adult (or at least I’d like to think so), I can go back to the old restaurants we used to visit or discover new ones anytime I want! With that being said, the dishes served here are sometimes a hit or a miss, which is where I got the idea for this blog!
I’ve carefully curated a list of food and restaurants that I promised myself I would share with my friends. But since you’re nice enough to click on this blog, I’m willing to share them with you!
Burnt Cheesecake at The Tokyo Restaurant

Operating hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Cost: $$$
Whenever my sweet tooth is acting up, one of the immediate cravings is The Tokyo Restaurant’s burnt cheesecake. It’s a dish that’s been ingrained in my brain since I was a kid and I still think it’s one of the best versions of this dish today.
What I particularly love about this cheesecake is its burnt edges, as it adds another layer of texture and flavour to the all-time classic dessert. Gimmick-aside, however, I still rock with this cheesecake as the base itself is smooth, light and perfectly aerated—pure chef’s kiss!
Personally, I like to pair their cheesecake with one of their delicious coffee drinks, and I suggest you do the same! If you’re looking for another classic dessert, however, you can also try their masterfully crafted tiramisu!
Pro tip:
If you love the taste of green tea, we recommend ordering their matcha cheesecake! It’s exactly what it sounds like and it perfectly combines the earthy taste of green tea with the rich and creamy flavour of the cake.
Oysters at Sakanaya Umihiko

Operating hours: Daily from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM
Cost: $$
If you’re craving seafood, then Sakanaya Umihiko is one of the best restaurants in Lot 10 for you! They source all of their seafood straight from Japan so you can expect premium and fresh quality with anything you order.
Out of everything on their menu, however, our favourite dish is the fresh oyster. They serve these on a platter and most importantly, at their freshest state, so you won’t have to worry about food poisoning!
On this platter, you’ll also find a bunch of condiments and ingredients that can complement the flavour of the raw oysters. If you want to try a safe combination, we recommend a splash of lemon juice and a dash of hot sauce for that added zestiness and spiciness—yum!
Pro tip:
If you’re looking for something that can warm your soul, we recommend ordering one of their authentic ramen noodles. Keep in mind though that they don’t serve porn in this restaurant so you’ll likely get some type of fish as your meat!
Tau Fu Fah at The Soybean Factory
Website: https://www.facebook.com/TheSoybeanFac/
Contact details: +60 3-2856 7088
Operating hours: Daily from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM
Cost: $
The Soybean Factory has always been a favourite stopover for me just because of their timeless tau fu fah, which is a traditional Chinese sweet. The dish itself is just silken tofu that’s flavoured with different kinds of syrup, be it pandan, sweet or even ginger!
Of course, my favourite is the classic sweet syrup, as I think that the silky tofu is more appropriate for sweet flavours. They even provide other ingredients to add more flair and flavour to the bowl of tofu like beans, milk, taro balls, potato balls and more.
If you don’t know which to order, however, we recommend sticking with their bestseller, which is the “Triple Q” tau fu fah. This consists of four seasons balls, grass jellies and of course, their signature soya pudding.
Pro tip:
If you don’t want your tau fu fah to be overly sweet, make sure to tell the person who will take your order to go easy on the sweetness. It would be much better if you flavour the silky tofu yourself since your order will come with a separate sweet syrup.
Sizzling Brownies at Molten Chocolate Cafe (Lot 10)
Website: https://www.moltenchocolatecafe.com
Contact details: +60 3-2110 1796
Operating hours: Daily from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Cost: $$
Molten Chocolate Cafe offers a dessert called sizzling brownies, which is exactly what it sounds like. As soon as I saw it on a poster, I knew that someone with a notorious sweet tooth like me would love to get a taste of this dish, and boy did it deliver!
They really mean it when they say sizzling, as these chocolatey brownies are served on a skillet. Instead of cooking oil or butter, however, they’re sitting on a generous amount of rich chocolate sauce.
The skillet also has some strawberries, marshmallows and cookie crumbs for that added texture and flavour. To top it all off, one scoop of vanilla ice cream is put on top of the brownies—if this doesn’t scream ultimate sweet tooth’s dessert, I don’t know what will.
Pro tip:
If Lot 10 is too far away from your planned itinerary, don’t worry! Molten Chocolate Cafe also has branches at MyTown, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Central i-City Mall.
Hokkien Mee at Kim Lian Kee
Website: https://www.facebook.com/KimLianKee/
Contact details:+60 18-268 2880
Operating hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Cost: $
A plate of Hokkien mee goes a long way, especially for those times when you just want to eat something that you know won’t disappoint your tastebuds. This dish is a Malaysian staple, and I’m glad that there’s a spot in Lot 10 that serves an amazing version of it.
The spot is called Kim Lian Kee and they’re one of the oldest restaurants that serve this dish, but not in this particular branch. Nonetheless, you’ll still get the same cheap but high-quality fried noodles that people know and love.
Furthermore, what we love about their Hokkien Mee is that they don’t shy away from gracing their diners with ingredients. For instance, I noticed that every time I eat here, my order always comes with generous amounts of pork slices!
Pro tip:
If you want a bit more kick in your Hokkien mee, some of their homemade spicy sambal should do the trick. Be careful though, as small amounts can go a long way!
Dipping Burger at Pasadena Burger
Website: https://www.facebook.com/orimycharliescafe2015/
Contact details: +60 10-220 3815
Operating hours:
- Monday and Wednesday: 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Tuesday and Thursday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
- Sunday: 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM
Cost: $$
For those times when you just want a big and juicy burger, one of the best restaurants you can check out in Lot 10 is Pasadena Burger. They offer something called the “dipping burger”, which they claim is the first of its kind in the country.
Basically, they’ll serve a saucer of dipping sauce to go along with your burger and just like what they say in the commercials for Oreos, all that’s left to do is “dunk it”. Personally, I think that it’s a great spin on a traditional Western favourite, and I’m all for it!
It definitely isn’t an everyday option, but it’s great to have from time to time for those times when you just want to pig out and eat something unhealthy. Plus, it’s also worth noting that the quality of their patties are amazing, especially the wagyu ones!
Pro tip:
While you’re here, we also recommend ordering their durian cheesecake, if you’re looking to try something unique and sweet at the same time. If you’re worried about the infamous stench of durian coming to play here, don’t be!
Wanton Mee at Ho Weng Kee
Contact details: +60 3-2782 3500
Operating hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Cost: $
One of my favourite things to get from Lot 10’s food court is the dried wanton mee from Ho Weng Kee. It’s one of the most authentic versions you can get in Kuala Lumpur, as they’ve been around for quite some time now, so if anyone can nail this recipe to a tee, it would be them!
For starters, we love how the noodles of their wanton mee are handmade, giving them that authentic texture and taste they’re known for. They’re also marinated in this mysterious yet delicious secret sauce that we can’t get enough of.
We also love the price-to-value ratio of this dish since you’ll get an overloaded plate of wanton mee for less than RM10. Moreover, the plate also comes with a generous serving of char siu, which is also worth highlighting in its own right.
Pro tip:
If you’re not too big of a fan of pork slices, you can opt for their roasted drumstick noodles if you’re a chicken kind of guy or 5-spice brisket noodles if you love beef!
Tonkatsu at Ma Maison Ebisu
Website: https://mamaison.com.my/ma-maison-ebisu/
Contact details:+60 3-2110 3511
Operating hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Cost: $
It’s no secret that Lot 10 is home to some of the best Japanese spots in the capital—case in point, Ma Maison Ebisu. They claim to serve the most authentic Tonkatsu, and we’ve got to say, they’ve got a strong argument!
From the crispiness of the skin to the tenderness and juiciness of the pork, they’ve got everything nailed down to a tee with this beloved dish. We also love the fact that the meat isn’t overly greasy, which is something that we don’t see often in other restaurants.
Their serving size is quite generous as well! Apart from having a huge slab of fried pork, their meal comes with a massive pile of coleslaw and a cup of rice—steal!
Pro tip:
As far as sides go, we highly recommend ordering a plate of their special fries, which comes with two distinct sauces. If you want something that screams traditional Japanese cuisine, however, you have to try their omurice with demi glaze sauce!
