Malaysia’s 5 Best Tailors for THE Perfect Outfit—Just for You!

Craftsmanship Quality — We prioritised tailors with a proven record of precise workmanship, consistent fittings, and strong client feedback that reflects long-term expertise.

Workspace and Tools — We favoured tailors who operate from well-organised studios with proper measuring tools, quality fabrics, and professional equipment.

Transparency — We selected tailors who clearly explain pricing, timelines, alteration policies, and fabric options before work begins.

Client Experience — We focused on tailors known for personalised consultations, attentive service, and trusted relationships within their local communities.

A friend once turned up to a wedding looking slightly uncomfortable, quietly tugging at a suit they’d bought on sale. The price was great, but the fit made it obvious something was off.

Watching that happen reminded us how the right tailor can completely change how an outfit feels and looks, without pushing costs through the roof. Good tailoring is often about smart adjustments rather than starting from scratch.

Continue reading this list of reliable tailors in Malaysia who know how to make clothes work for people at a fair price.

How much does a tailor’s service in Malaysia cost?

In Malaysia, simple alterations (like hemming) typically cost RM15 to RM30, while the labour charge for traditional wear like a Baju Kurung ranges from RM50 to RM150.

For a custom-made men’s suit, prices generally start at RM800 and can exceed RM3,000 for premium bespoke quality.

Majestic Bespoke Tailor has built a solid following in Malaysia, and we can see why. Their designs are modern and sharp—think clean lines with just enough personality to stand out.

They work with both men and women, covering custom-made suits, tuxedos, waiscoats, and trousers. Speaking of men and women, while they work on both, we noticed they only feature men in suits on their Instagram.

It would have been nice to see female samples as well. Moreover, their fabric selection is solid, with a decent range of textures and colours to choose from.

Clients even praised them for their sharp eye during fittings. They highlighted that they are quick at understanding what works for different body types and occasions.

We also love that they provide complimentary first-year minor alterations and professional dry cleaning services for their own clients, so that’s a plus for convenience!

Here’s the catch, though: they don’t accept walk-ins. Everything runs strictly by appointment.

Pros

  • Expert stylist consultation
  • Modern craftsmanship
  • Personalised fit assessment

Cons

  • Strictly appointment-only

Took time explaining colour selection

“I found them in Google Maps. Search for suit rentals and you’ll definitely 💯 will see Majestic Bespoke. Met Shawn for the first time and I was at ease almost immediately telling him my situation to pair with my wife for a cocktail wedding dinner for my sister-in-law. Once Shawn knows the color to match with my wife, his recommendation was spot on. Shawn took his time explaining the color selection and assure me that me and wife will be a power couple. On dinner night, we stood out as power couple, felt confident and amazing that evening. Just to say how important it is to choose a suit for cocktail, the style and how to best match with your partner. Highly recommend, I will suit up again here for sure 💯! Picking up and returning was easy. Price is reasonable to rental. Thanks Shawn for making the evening for us special.”

Created the perfect wedding suit

“Service was great and the suit provided was perfect for my wedding! Was in Japan and found them online when I searched on ‘renting a suit near Klang Valley.’ Gave them my measurements and they gave some options for me to choose from. A week before my wedding, I came back to Malaysia and went straight for my suit fitting. Luckily, they found the right size and no more adjustment was needed! Shawn(the owner) was really polite and very helpful giving his suggestions and ideas on what looks good on me. I was really satisfied and the suit looks great for my outdoor-garden themed wedding.”

Abbey Tailoring is a standout for those with non-standard body types. Its owner, Daniel Chin, is often praised for taking into account body weight fluctuations furing the pattern-making process, and also considers the suit’s fabric to allow ease of movement.

This tailor operates out of a home studio, so parking could get tricky in a residential terraced area. On the bright side, this setup also means they can offer fitting sessions late into the evening—ideal if you’re stuck at the office late at night.

Their range of services is impressive too. Custom shirts, blazers, even traditional batik—they handle more variety than most home-based tailors.

Just like Majestic Bespoke Tailor, they only accept scheduled appointments and no walk-ins whatsoever.

While this might not work for some, this also means every client gets full attention.

This is true with how they broke down the technical stuff, giving us a deeper understanding of tailoring and what they do.

They’re also incredibly patient when walking clients through fabric options and cut designs. That matters a lot when getting the final product right. And the turnaround? Sometimes as fast as a month, often ahead of schedule.

Pros

  • Flexible appointments
  • Comprehensive garment variety
  • Prompt turnaround time

Cons

  • Parking can be difficult

Love the personalised service

“Owned & operated by a professional & articulate young man. But don’t let the rather young age deceive you. Daniel is formally trained at a distinguished international school and knows his stuff – from fabrics to style. He’ll advise you on what’s classic, conservative, modern & evergreen & also takes into account changes in body weight, type of shoes worn, how big your handphone is, things you typically put in your pocket etc. You get personalised service as it’s on appointment basis & he’ll only serve you during that particular session. All good & happy with the results.”

Suits here are awesome and satisfying

“The experience of getting my first tailored suit was a very pleasing and comfortable one. I requested for a professional suit with a modern twist. With the tailor using his knowledge, skills and experience to guide me on the perfect suit for my body shape. The outcome of going to Abbey’s Tailor  to make a suit that is tailored to customer’s requirements is awesome and satisfying.”

Best Chosen Tailor brings over 18 years of tailoring experience and has been operating since 2018. Their focus is on fully custom-made garments at prices that won’t break the bank.

During our visit, we watched the team work with serious attention to detail. Everything felt geared towards pieces built to last. We also noted their Basted Try-On Experience, where they create a temporary version to perfect the drape.

However, keep in mind that they don’t share recorded measurements with clients for outside use.

On the positive side, they’re exceptionally meticulous during fittings. They often schedule dedicated days just to verify the drape and comfort of the suit before completion.

Clients consistently mention the quality of workmanship, the friendly environment, and the attentive guidance during colour and fabric selection. Those small touches clearly make a difference.

Pros

  • Professional fitting process
  • Dedicated quality control
  • Comprehensive fabric selection

Cons

  • Measurements not provided

Mr. Chin made sure every measurement was right

“Had my very first tailored suit done here for my convocation and I wanna say I couldn’t be happier. Mr Chin, the friendly owner of the store, really took his time making sure every measurement was right and scheduled a fitting day for me to try out the suit just to make sure everything fit well before wrapping it up. The outcome turned out to be better than I had imagined! The photos speak for themselves. The entire process including the measurements took a little bit over 2 months but that’s because I had mine measured and done around CNY so that’s super understandable. All in all, my experience with Best Chosen Tailor has been nothing short of wonderful!”

Glad and happy for the result

“It’s just pure skilled craftsmanship. This customised blue suit was inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s 50s iconic style. So glad and happy for the result. The only downside is I made it when I was 52 kg, but suddenly I weight loss -6kg 🤓🥲”

“This is my third time ordering a custom-tailored suit from Rex Custom Tailor, and once again, I am extremely satisfied with the quality and service. Attack Fashion House has been around since 1988, blending timeless tailoring traditions with modern elegance. They’re notably the personal tailor to the Sultan of Johor, a royal recognition that speaks to their mastery and precision.

Our visit was smooth and welcoming, but what truly sets them apart is their digital “Smart Consultation” process. They use an iPad-based 3D customization system, allowing clients to visualize different laps, buttons, and fabric drapes.

What’s even better is that clients can have a virtual model of their build before the first cut is even made, greatly reducing guesswork. It’s nifty, especially for first-time bespoke clients!

As for the staff, we love how they’re patient and knowledgeable. Their style advice is valuable, and we appreciate how they make first-timers feel comfortable throughout consultations and fittings.

Furthermore, clients consistently praise the attention to detail and well-proportioned garments. The fit is spot-on, even for lean builds.

However, the only challenge here is the limited parking space because it’s located in a very busy area. But overall, the high-quality service and commitment to excellence make Attack Fashion House a solid choice for wardrobe upgrades.

Pros

  • Personal tailor of the Sultan of Johor
  • Expert guidance
  • Quality craftsmanship

Cons

  • Limited parking space

Did not regret choosing them

“Was looking for a nice suit tailor in JB and came across Attack Fashion House. Did not regret choosing AFH! From their customers service, options, prices and location, everything was great. Lauren was very accommodating throughout the process. My fiance tailored a double breasted suit & the finishing was so nice. Will definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice customised suit ☺️”

– Azzura Iszham, Google Review

Even the minor details are impeccably noted

“Visited Attack Fashion House for custom made suit. Lynn was very professional – patience in answering the questions despite my visit came at closing time, providing advice and suggestions for the colours compatibility and fabric selections, not pushy for sales, taking the measurements and ensuring minor details are considered. Very recommended for those considering custom tailored made suit, formal and informal business wear.”
