That’s why I’ve been to tons of steakhouses in PJ! However, let me be the first one to tell you that not all of them can cook a nice slab of steak. Some of the best ones I’ve tried weren’t even from steakhouses!
I’m no connoisseur but I know a good piece of meat based on its char, texture and of course, flavour! So consider me your guide for today as I guide you through the top places to get the best steak in PJ. Read on below to get your steak on!

- Tuesday: 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Maria’s Steak Cafe is one of the perfect examples of a restaurant nailing down its forte, which in this case happens to be any type of steak you could think of! For instance, the Wagyu tenderloin is like the Lamborghini of steaks, and they nailed everything from the texture to the flavour, etc.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking to add some pastries into the mix, you can order their thick and juicy beef wellington. As if that’s not enough flavour on your table, this dish can also come with a side of foie gras—one of the most beloved delicacies in the food industry.
We also appreciate that they don’t just offer steaks from beef, as they also serve amazing lamb cutlets. They’re great to eat on their own but what elevates the dish even further is the homemade mint sauce, which adds a layer of acidity.
Pro tip:
If you’re visiting with someone who isn’t typically a huge fan of meat, you can suggest the fish and chips! It features the same generous serving size as well as a delicious homemade tartare sauce that’s to die for.

Vantador is one of those places you’ll save for special occasions for its elegant ambience and amazing food (and steep price). It’s money worth spending though, as all their cuts of steak are of premium quality, ranging from dry-aged Spanish beef to black Wagyu and more.
One of their bestsellers is the dry-aged Australian beef and you can choose whether to get a porterhouse or a t-bone. I prefer the latter, as we love the little chunk of fat that comes right at the end of the bone—just don’t tell my nutritionist I said that!
Regardless of which one you choose though, your tastebuds will be blown away by the flavour of the meat itself paired with garlic and natural Añana salt flakes. For the sides, they offer thick-cut fries and Brussels sprouts.
Pro tip:
If you’re looking to end your meal on a sweet note, order their dry-aged burnt cheesecake! It’s great for sharing and it features the creamiest texture we’ve ever tried in a cheesecake—plus, it comes with a swirl of homemade Chantilly cream.

Savage by Foreli is a hip steakhouse that isn’t afraid to put unique spins on an iconic plate of steak. One of the ways they stand out from others is by using unique marinades to flavour their slabs of meat and we’ve got to say, it’s a much-welcome change!
Among these sauces is the Sarawak Peppercorn, which adds a unique kick to every bite of their steaks. Their slabs of meats are of great quality themselves, as they feature amazing marbling and they’re cooked perfectly depending on your preference.
We also appreciate the generous serving sizes they offer for their sides like the asparagus, mashed potatoes and fries. Moreover, you can order one of their pasta for sharing to add more flavour to your order—hint: go for their spaghetti aglio olio.
Pro tip:
If you want to order something to share with the entire table, we recommend ordering their pizzas! They also come with a single serving of Caesar Salad as well as a glass of soft drink, which you can turn into a float just by adding RM5.

If you can’t decide whether to eat steak or local favourites, then Grub by Ahong & Friends should be right up your alley! It’s one of the few places in PJ where you can order dishes like Kampung chicken, pani puri and chicken chop alongside your slabs of juicy meat.
The steaks themselves are nothing short of amazing too, as they’re massive and seasoned to perfection! Their expert chefs also do a great job of cooking the steaks just the way we like them, whether we’re craving well-done, medium rare or anything in between.
They offer just about every cut available as well but if you want our advice, we recommend the Wagyu tomahawk because of its sheer serving size. It also comes with a side of toasted bread that you can use to soak up all the juices from the steak—yum!
Pro tip:
Check out their official Facebook page regularly to see if new special menus are available. For instance, they’ll typically feature special holiday menus around November, offering boneless turkey and Wagyu Wellington.

Me’nate Steak Hub is one of the best Western restaurants in PJ (western food in PJ) hugely because of its wide range of steaks. Whether you’re craving Wagyu, Angus or grass-fed steak, you’ll be in good hands here!
One of the standouts from their menu is the Wagyu signature tenderloin, which features spectacular marbling. Once they finish cooking, the fat from this marbling is evenly distributed throughout the meat, which results in a more tender texture.
They also offer lamb options for those who prefer a bit more game on their steak. We especially love their lamb ribs, as they feature that signature fall-off-the-bone tenderness that results in a lip-smacking experience.
Pro tip:
If you want some surf and turf action, you can also order their Andalusia lobster! Meanwhile, if you’re on a tighter budget but still want to add some seafood into the mix, you can also opt for their fish and chips, which feature a seabass.

SS2 is one of the best spots to get good food in Petaling Jaya and The Butcher’s Table is one of the best examples of this. The restaurant offers a rustic steakhouse vibe that offers a wide variety of Western staples from ribs to burgers and of course, steaks.
The cuts you can enjoy here are all made from Australian Wagyu, ranging from ribeye to sirloin, tomahawk and more. Each item comes with a side dish and you can choose between mashed potatoes, garlic rice, crispy fries, etc.
If you’re looking for a different type of feast that still involves juicy meat, we recommend their Wagyu truffle cheeseburger. Note that it takes 25 minutes to prepare, but trust us, the wait is worth every second!
Pro tip:
Order a side of rice along with their steaks! The rice will immediately soak up the juices from the meat so no drop is wasted.

TTDI Meat Point may not pass as your fancy steakhouse but it’s still one of the best spots to get steaks in Petaling Jaya. You don’t have to look further than their tomahawk to realise this, as it features authentic grill marks, tender meat and most importantly, they leave the bone in!
However, our favourite is the grass-fed ribeye, especially with the homemade gravy—I’m already salivating just talking about it! Furthermore, it comes with a hearty serving of mashed potatoes and fresh veggies!
They also offer Wagyu meat and one of the best ways they use it is through their burger. Everything about this dish is immaculate, from the tenderness and juiciness of the Wagyu patty to the smoothness of the tomatoes and the crunchiness of the onions.
Pro tip:
If you want to enjoy their steak in a more handheld experience, we recommend getting their steak and cheese sandwich. It consists of ribeye slices and a generous serving of gooey mozzarella cheese—yum!

On the other hand, they offer dishes like “Bombay Steak”, which features a perfectly grilled piece of meat glazed with chillies and a homemade mango chutney sauce. They also offer a dish called Neptune’s Taurus Delight, which pairs their steaks with massive tiger prawns.
