Whenever I ask the kids where they want to spend the day while we’re in Penang, they’ll either answer with ice cream shops (ice cream penang) or indoor playgrounds. Fortunately, the island features a wide selection of both, so I get to share my favourite ones with you!
Our list covers some of the best value-for-money indoor playgrounds in Penang. Whether you want your kids to learn, have fun or both at the same time, you’ll find something here that’s worth checking out!

Adventure Zone is nestled along the coast of Batu Ferringhi Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Malaysia. So if you’re looking to stay at the beachfront that features a massive playground for your kids, you may consider staying at the Golden Sands Resort!
This is a great indoor playground because it can cater to a wide age group, more specifically, toddlers to children. Adults can also get in on the fun, as each kid is entitled to have one free guardian with them in the playground!
It features multiple levels of climbable structures and colourful obstacle courses, creating a playland paradise like no other. The biggest attraction here, however, is the three-lane rainbow slide, which will let your kids glide elegantly while sliding down multiple curves.
Pro tip:
If your kids grow hungry after hours of playing in the playground, you can head to the snack counter located within the premises!

Kidland Penang is a haven for kids because of its vibrant and colourful play area that’s dotted with games and attractions. Come to think of it, it’s also a haven for parents since it’s rare to see an indoor playground of this calibre that’s cheap—win-win!
Your kids will never have a dull time here, as the playground features everything from slides to ball pits, obstacle courses, bridges and more. Our favourite attraction here, however, is the small but exciting swirly slide, which leads straight to a colourful ball pit.
This playground also does a great job of providing a safe space to help kids tap into their potential by featuring role-playing areas. Here, children can step in the shoes of firefighters, policemen, scientists, doctors and more!
Pro tip:
If your kids want something more adrenaline-inducing, you can let them try the circuit racing track. Don’t worry, you can get in on the fun as well and race with your little ones!

- Family Package: RM38 (1 kid, 1 adult, 1 kids meal, 2 drinks)
KopiKids PlayCafe does a great job of catering for both parents and kids, by featuring a cafe inside its indoor playground. Don’t worry though, as adults can still enter the playground since each kid is required to have a grown-up with them for supervision.
The play area is divided into multiple zones, with each one featuring different attractions like ball pits, cannons, slides and more. They also have rooms for toddlers where they can do some role-playing like cooking—talk about starting them young, right?
The third level of the playground is arguably the best one though, as it features a massive slide, foam pits, rotating swings and even a trampoline! Don’t be shy to try these rides for yourself though, as some kids are shy to go on their own.
Pro tip:
If you want to extend the fun, you can head across the street and visit GSC Kulim Sentral to watch the latest kid-friendly movies and animations!
Kidsville Waterfront

Contact details: +60 12-447 8899
Operating hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Kidsville Waterfront isn’t your traditional indoor playground that features vibrant colours and wacky illustrations. Here, you and your kids will be greeted by minimalistic yet still fun-looking slides and pits that will leave you in awe.
One of the biggest highlights here, however, is the sprinkle pool, which is a bit different than your typical ball and foam pits. Here, the pool is filled with gigantic and colourful sprinkles where you can just sink in while watching animations on the big screen.
The place doesn’t fall short of concessions as well, as they offer famous fast food chains albeit in their stall forms as well as a wide selection of pastries! This way, you can easily grab your kids some quick bites to help them regain their energy after playing for countless hours.
Pro tip:
While you’re here, be sure to visit the nearby Queensville Waterfront to enjoy stunning views of the glistening sea! There are benches along this park where you can sit down with your family or if you want to extend the fun, there’s also an outdoor playground!

Kids CEO Playland offers one of the most complete playground facilities we’ve seen on the island, boasting multiple zones that feature various attractions. For instance, one of these zones is geared towards toddlers, which is why you’ll find ball pits, small slides and colourful castles.
Meanwhile, there’s also a zone that features less vibrant colours but more challenging obstacles like rope bridges, foam pits and climbable walls. Although we’re not telling your kids where to go, we can see how this zone caters to older kids.
Our favourite attraction here, however, is the rainbow tube slide! Here, your kids will be strapped onto a doughnut-shaped rubber tube and before they know it, they’ll be screaming at the top of their lungs as they plunge down.
Pro tip:
Make sure to bring your own pair of socks for yourself and your children because visitors are required to wear them at all times. This way, you can avoid paying unnecessary money for the socks they offer on the counter.

Asobiba is the perfect example of the saying “big things come in small packages.” Although it doesn’t seem like much from the outside, you’ll be surprised at the variety of playground facilities it offers as well as its learning tools.
For starters, the playground is divided into different areas, featuring rooms that are for toddlers and those that are more geared towards little kids. One perfect example of this is their ball pit room, which features bridges and platforms where they can jump from!
