5 Sri Petaling Hair Salons Local Fashionistas Love
As someone who changes their hairstyle more often than they should, I treat finding the right hair salon like a scavenger hunt. The reward can either be the best look of your life or something that can set you back for a few months.
Thankfully, there’s one area near my residence that I found to be home to several of KL’s most noteworthy hair salons: Sri Petaling. It has been my guilty pleasure to frequent these spots as they’ve allowed me a relaxing break amidst my daily hustle and bustle.
My regular visits have been such great help to my mental health, so I thought that these are meant to be shared! To help you out find your next trusted stylist (and haven, I hope), I’ve narrowed down my list to the best salons I’ve been to in Sri Petaling over the years and reviewed each one.

Hair salon services in Sri Petaling can cost RM40 for basic haircuts, while more complex services like colouring, perming, and treatments can range from RM120 to RM1,000 or more.

Hair Color Expert immediately caught our attention because of its wide variety of colouring services, from highlights to bleaching, balayage, etc. What impressed us further was how in-depth these services are, consisting of detailed consultations and hair treatments.
Previous clients we spoke with have highlighted the salon’s consultants as highly experienced, friendly, and professional. During the consultation, they noted how the consultant guided them through the process before getting the treatment and even provided some suggestions and tips.
We were also pleased to discover how affordable their colouring services were. Regulars have also praised this salon’s transparency, noting that the advertised prices are already the final rates.
Their proven work is displayed on their lookbooks, and although we wouldn’t try some of the bold colours they have done many times, it’s still impressive to see. As much as we love the variety of their colouring services, we’re disappointed with how limited their other services are.
On the bright side, we appreciate their advanced online appointment system, as it’s user-friendly!

“Second visit here, and still my favourite place to get my hair dyed! Colourist Max helped me all the way from the colour consultation to the styling stage. The pricing is transparent, and they’ll let you know the price before starting the dyeing process.
I chose blonde highlights with a brown base. Max was professional, clearly a perfectionist and friendly, too! The other staff there were also nice. I will definitely come again for my 3rd time.”

22 Hairstage Salon is one of our go-tos because of its wide variety of salon services, ranging from cutting, styling, colouring, etc.
Their stylists are classified into three categories: stylist, senior stylist, and director. Of course, the director has the most expensive rates, but based on our experience, the basic stylist is just as skilled.
We’ve also interviewed their regulars, who praised these stylists as attentive and often asking several questions to make sure they nail the look.
We just think they could improve their perming services. We haven’t tried this ourselves, but we’ve heard several complaints about how short-lived their curls were.
On the upside, many clients return here because of the salon’s scalp and hair treatments, which have been touted as nourishing even the driest scalps!
Many also commended the warm customer service and welcoming ambience. The salon also features a minimalistic yet glamorous interior, complete with vibrant decor, LED-lit mirrors, and plush chairs—so cozy yet classy!

The Hair TRIC and Lashility caught our eye because of its impressive track record. For starters, it gained various accolades, including one of the most coveted awards in the industry, the International Hairdressing Award.
Accolades aside, this salon also offers an impressive selection of services for both hair and eyelashes. Their Korean perm is among the most celebrated because of its long-lasting effect.
We’ve also seen the before and after photos of clients we’ve interviewed, and we were amazed at how bouncy and natural their curls looked.
It’s also worth mentioning that this salon is also known for its signature balayage, which uses a unique air touch technique to achieve a more natural-looking shade. We asked their staff how this worked, and they explained in detail how they use air to highlight the hair instead of the traditional foil method.
Our only gripe is its expensive rates, which are to be expected in a salon as celebrated as this one. Fortunately, they do have the results to back these prices up.

Locals praise Kimarie Salon Sri Petaling for offering services for both male and female customers and kids! We were impressed with how they handled kids, as they cut their hair with finesse and patience.
We discovered that stylists are all trained to handle different lengths and hair types, which is likely why locals entrust them with their manes. When we interviewed their regulars, they stated how they always get a confidence boost after their haircuts!
We also appreciate how attentive their stylists are while colouring their clients’ hair. Most regulars we spoke with also mentioned how they appreciated the stylist’s insightful recommendations on styling according to their skin and head shape.
We just wish that the staff here would improve their time management skills, as we’ve also heard numerous complaints about delayed sessions.
Moreover, a handful of previous customers were also disappointed with the perming service, as the effect only lasted for two days.

Jeff Lee The Hair Company is one of the most renowned makeover spots in Sri Petaling. They offer spa services ranging from simple haircuts to the most complex bridal makeovers.
What’s great about their salon services is that they often come in packages. For instance, availing yourself of their haircut will also give you a relaxing shampoo, a quick style, and a detailed consultation with their stylist.
As with most salons, their stylists come in different tiers, ranging from senior designers to the founder. Previous customers of these stylists haven’t had any complaints after their sessions, noting how they achieved their desired look with just a single session.
Another service that caught our attention was their Inoa hair colouring, a method that doesn’t use ammonia—perfect for people with sensitive scalps.
However, we feel their price range is still too high, given that other salons in the area offer the same services at more affordable rates. We can’t say that it’s a go-to, but it’s great for saving up for special occasions, especially since the stylists here have the skills to show for it.

“I have been Joebee’s client for quite some time. She understood my need for a minimal maintenance hairstyle, and she is also good at recommending suitable treatments that don’t take too much of my time.
Recently, I did the keratin treatment before CNY and it was really nice. My shoulder hair length doesn’t curl outwards anymore, and I don’t have to spend much time blowing my hair to straighten it. The staff are quite friendly and they are also very patient with young kids.
