5 Best Daycare Centres in Malaysia That Can Help Nurture Your Children’s Minds

Safety and security: The first thing we considered was the safety measures of these centres as well as their levels of security.

Centre: Next, we looked at the centres themselves to see if they were well-maintained and clean for the children’s health and hygiene.

Staff: Of course, we also observed their staff to see if they were personable and had the necessary qualifications.

Curriculum: Next, we checked their curriculum and if they offered extra-curriculars.

Affordability: Lastly, we checked if their prices were reasonable.

As a parent who wants nothing but the best for their child, I recognise the importance of choosing the right daycare centre for them. It’s a decision that can impact their early development years and of course, their overall well-being.

Fortunately, Malaysia houses a great selection of these centres, from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, Selangor, etc., and I’m here to tell you about the best ones!

To help prepare your kids for their eventual enrolment in your public or private school of choice, here are some of the best daycares in Malaysia that can help them realise their dreams:

How much do daycares cost in Malaysia?

Daycares typically charge anywhere from RM1,650 to RM2,250 per month. This price varies depending on the centre itself as well as the age of the child and additional costs such as uniforms, books, etc.

We’ve seen Taska Lil Footprints before because of its convenient location in Kuala Lumpur, so it was one of our prospects when making this list. We did an ocular and discovered a relatively small but fun learning centre that exuded charm and joy.

We loved how the classrooms were decorated vibrantly but more importantly, we noticed that they take security very seriously. We found several CCTV cameras across the centre and we also met some of the security guards of the establishment.

As for the curriculum itself, we felt that it was a bit limited, only featuring four of them, namely: practical life, sensorial training, language development and early mathematics.

However, we could see that it’s a quality over quantity type of situation, as we’ve heard nothing but good words about them.

We talked to parents who enrolled their kids in this establishment and noted how effective the curriculums were at helping their children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Pros

  • Offers both full-day and half-day programmes
  • Personable staff members
  • Accessible KL location

Cons

  • Slightly limited curriculum

Warm and welcoming space

“Wonderful Experience at Lil Footprints Taska. We are incredibly grateful to the amazing teachers and Ms. Lee at Lil Footprints Taska for taking such great care of both our children.

Our daughter, Isla, has just graduated after attending from 2021 to 2024, and she’s now starting school with confidence and a solid foundation in her basic learning skills.

Lil Footprints is a warm and welcoming space that has been perfect for our family. As two working parents, the hours are ideal, allowing us peace of mind knowing our children are in good hands throughout the day.

The nursery is always clean, and the staff takes extra precautions with intense cleaning if there’s any outbreak of illness. Communication has always been clear and consistent, and we loved receiving updates and pictures of our children via their app.

Overall, we’ve had a great experience and would highly recommend Lil Footprints Taska to anyone living in the area or working nearby.”

Played a pivotal role in my child’s development

“I am writing this review to express my utmost satisfaction and gratitude towards Lil Footprints, a daycare and kindergarten that has played a pivotal role in my child’s development. The progress I’ve seen in my child since they started attending Lil Footprints is truly remarkable.

The teachers at Lil Footprints, especially Ms. Mages, are nothing short of amazing. Their dedication, expertise, and genuine care for the children are evident in every interaction.

They have created an environment that is not only super clean and secure but also nurturing and stimulating.

The management, led by Ms. Lee, ensures that everything runs smoothly and that the needs of every child are met. Their professionalism and commitment to excellence are commendable.

Lil Footprints stands out as one of the best schools in KL, without a doubt. The multicultural environment is a bonus, providing a rich and diverse experience for the kids. It’s amazing to see how this exposure has broadened my child’s perspective and understanding of the world.

Since moving overseas, we’ve missed Lil Footprints dearly. It’s been challenging to find a place that offers such a wonderful blend of education, care, and culture.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Lil Footprints again, and we were warmly received. The gift they presented to our little prince was a thoughtful gesture that touched our hearts.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Lil Footprints to any parent seeking a top-notch, reliable, and effective early education for their child. Thank you, Lil Footprints, for your outstanding service and for the fond memories we will always cherish!”

LEADERland piqued our attention because of their unorthodox way of teaching. The teachers here come in the form of their “coaches”, who parents have highlighted as personable professionals.

One parent highlighted how their daughter started out dreading daycare but with the coaches’ fun and welcoming attitude, she started looking forward to her classes. We also took a closer look at their coaches and discovered that most of them are Bachelor’s degree holders.

Their biggest highlight, however, is their selection of courses, which range from leadership training to music classes, clay art workshops, phonics and public speaking. We were also surprised that they offer swimming classes, which we don’t usually see in daycare centres.

Our only gripe with this daycare centre is that their curriculums and courses are vaguely described on their website. We imagine that you’d have to go to their centre physically to learn more about them or make a phone call.

Pros

  • Offers a wide variety of courses
  • Personable coaches
  • Great leadership courses

Cons

  • Vague descriptions of courses on the website

The coaches are caring and enthusiastic

“From LEADERland Pre-school to LEADERland Primary Day Care, my daughter enjoys every day she spends at LEADERland and is always looking forward to attending the ”school”.

This is a unique daycare centre that not only provides daycare and tuition services for the kids, but also has leadership programs that help build good character and cultivate leadership skills among young students, balancing the needs of both academic achievement and character building.

Moreover, the coaches are caring and enthusiastic. They are proactive in communicating the progress and issues with the parents, and professional in handling issues.”

More than just academics

“My elder girl has been in the daycare since her standard 1. Started with crying episodes every day, but the coaches handled it well, and now she goes to the daycare happily every day.

The good thing is that the extra excursion, outing, camping, and leadership day manage to guide the leaders more than just academics and manage to unleash their potential. Thanks for all the good communication with the coaches as well.”

As soon as we entered Choo Choo Train’s centre in Kuala Lumpur, we immediately got a sense of joyfulness in its atmosphere. It may have also helped that classes were in session during our ocular but the main factor that gave us this impression was the friendly and welcoming staff.

We also want to highlight their academic team. We’re impressed by how they’re constantly trained by the National Institute of Child Care and Education, allowing them to use the latest educational practices.

Speaking of academics, we were impressed with how they approach learning in this school, as they mostly feature art-based programs for their daycare students. They offer different programs suited for specific ages.

Their last art-based program is called Choco Choo Quest and it’s targeted towards children aged 36 to 48 months. The main goal of this program is to prepare kids for kindergarten and pre-school by offering subjects like language, maths, and science.

In our books, the only downside is its pricey rates.

Pros

  • Fun arts-enhanced programs
  • Joyful atmosphere
  • Friendly team
  • Features multiple locations across Malaysia

Cons

  • Slightly pricey services

Responded quickly

“This is my review after observing for almost 2 months of the job done.

Before CL Tan, I tried another repair 2 times but not only issue unsolved but the repairer lost contact as well.

I found CL Tan through Google, he is responsive and good at following up on the arrangement for inspection.

I decided to give it a try after the inspection and he involved himself in the repair too.

After a week I found it was still leaking at the same spot, but unlike the previous repairer, he responded quickly by arranging another appointment to check and rectify.

Now the roof is no longer leaking.

Thanks for the good work done CL Tan, I hope you keep the quality at a reasonable price and I believe your business will grow very well.”

Responsive and easy to communicate with

“Mr. Tan is exceptionally responsive and easy to communicate with. He promptly addressed our roof leaking issue, and his team of five efficiently completed the entire project in less than two hours.

I am extremely pleased with his service and his quick response. Mr. Tan is an honest individual with a friendly and approachable attitude.”

We were familiar with Pink Tower prior to making this list because of its multiple branches across Selangor. We’ll always see it from a mile away because of its fun and vibrant-looking buildings and after an ocular, it’s safe to say that these words describe their classes as well.

One of the reasons for this is passionate “educarers”, who are widely praised because of their professionalism and warm personalities. Furthermore, this team has a combined experience of over 20 years so if anyone’s eligible to provide education and care, it would be them.

As for their daycare programme, they can cater to toddlers aged 19 to 36 months. We must say, even though the program doesn’t offer the most variety, it still tackles essential skills that kids need to develop during this stage.

For instance, one of the most important skills that they aim to teach kids during daycare is language. Their educarers do a great job of teaching language by promoting natural conversations and incorporating literacy activities.

Pros

  • In-depth daycare programs
  • Multiple locations across Malaysia
  • Passionate “educarers”
  • Nurturing environment

Cons

  • Slightly limited selection of programmes.

Incredibly understanding and proactive

“I wanted to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for the wonderful support and patience Teacher Janice has shown my son over the past year.

Teacher Janice has been incredibly understanding and proactive in helping my son, especially in situations where he faced challenges, like refusing to sit in his car seat. I was touched when she took the initiative to guide him the next day, showing kindness and patience.

We are blessed to have such a kind and patient teacher like you. We are incredibly grateful to have you, and we truly appreciate all the effort you’ve put into helping my son.”

— PY SIN, Google Review

Highly recommended

“A healthy place to grow our child. The teachers are very caring. My son has seen great improvement and is more independent. The school’s nurturing environment and engaging curriculum have made learning more enjoyable for him.

My son loved his teachers and friends. He always looking forward to going to school. Highly recommended!”

Little Playhouse is a well-known daycare centre in the country because of its strategic location in one of Kuala Lumpur’s famous shopping centres.

Something that we immediately noticed about Little Playhouse is that just like its name suggests, it offers a more fun approach to learning. We highly appreciate that it built this type of learning environment for their students because, after all, they are still kids.

We also love that they offer numerous curriculums that can cater to different age groups. Each one, however, aims to help kids develop different essential skills like motor skills, creativity, problem-solving, literacy and more.

These lessons are taught by their amazing academic team, who are highlighted by parents as being passionate, patient and kind.

The only thing you need to worry about when choosing this daycare centre is its above-average prices. However, we can say that it’s money well spent since your kids will get to enjoy a more fun learning experience in a joyful and vibrant environment.

Pros

  • Wide variety of subjects with innovative teaching methods
  • Offers a fun learning experience and environment
  • Accessible locations
  • 5-star rating from the Federal Territory Social Welfare Department

Cons

  • Expensive

Genuinely care about each student’s growth

“I’m thrilled with this school! My child is always excited to go, and it’s clear that they feel safe, supported, and happy there. The teachers are not only kind but genuinely care about each student’s growth and well-being.

The other kids are friendly and welcoming, making it a truly wonderful community. The environment is incredibly positive and uplifting.”
