Baker’s Cottage is more like your traditional bakery where it’s a no-frills establishment that’s focused on offering freshly-baked goods every day. Their products are those you’d typically find in bakeries like croissants, tarts, loaves, danishes, puffs, pies—the works.
However, they can also throw a curveball at you by offering full meals like nasi lemak and even a full roasted chicken! This type of variety makes it more than just a place that you visit in the morning to get fresh bread, which is an instant A+ in our books.
They also offer a variety of mooncakes, which we think is their biggest draw! They come in different flavours and sizes but our favourite one that we highly recommend has got to be their durian mooncake.
Pro tip:
If you’re looking to throw a tea party at your house, we recommend ordering one of their mooncake packages! These packages offer better value for money and are presented elegantly with unique packaging.

Yan Yan Baking is the epitome of a local neighbourhood bakery, featuring classic types of bread like sourdough, buns, loaves and everything in between. It will definitely bring you back to your childhood years, with its nostalgic look as well as the fresh smell of baked bread.
We wanted to highlight their sourdough because they’re huge and cheap, which are two things that you won’t typically see together in a single sentence.
They also serve a variety of tarts, which is perfect for those who are looking for something sweet but not to the point where you’ll feel diabetic after eating. This is especially true with their fruit tarts, as they’re beautifully made with fresh berries!
Pro tip:
If you’re too tired to head outside but still want to try what all the fuss is about Yan Yan Baking, you can place your order online through WhatsApp. Just keep in mind that their delivery fee is around RM5 to RM6 depending on where you are in Shah Alam.

Berry’s Cake House should be on your radar if you’re on the hunt for the cutest and most delicious cakes. They’re widely known for their whole cakes, which are presented neatly with candy flowers and sometimes, real strawberries!
You can’t go wrong with any of their cakes but if you want the best, we highly recommend checking out their Blackforest cake. It’s as chocolatey as this flavour may come and the best part is that it’s garnished with candied strawberries—yum!
However, their cakes barely scratch the surface of what they have in store for their visitors! For instance, they also make buns, croissants, loaves, chiffons, custard puffs and even tarts—all of which are baked fresh daily.
Pro tip:
Regularly check the promotions tab on their official website to see the latest deals they’re offering with their baked goods! Sometimes, they’ll also post special products that coincide with particular holidays of the year.

It’s one of my favourite spots to stop by in the morning because of the aroma of freshly baked bread lingering in its store. From buns to croissants, toasts and other kinds of bread, you’ll find everything that your heart may be craving during breakfast.
Among their offerings, our favourite ones include the walnut raisin bread and the coffee chocolate chips just because of their unique flavours and textures. However, you can still try classic proven and tested pastries here such as plain toasts and cake rolls.
Pro tip:
If you’re looking for something light, flavourful and guilt-free, we recommend getting their fruit tart! This freshly baked pastry is garnished with fresh fruits such as kiwi, orange and berries!
